    McGregor isn't a CDM. He's barely got a defensive bone in his body.

    And the game hasn't "moved on". Different managers like different profiles. Man City went from being arguably the best team on the planet to going a season trophyless, mainly due to losing their physically imposing CDM Rodri. Liverpool cruised to the title with a physically imposing CDM, Gravenberch.

    Could only see a daily record article and it's source was "celts are here" saying it isn't the case.

    The same article also said that reports had circulated from Turkey over the weekend...when they were from Portuguese papers.

    Great players will always have a place in the game no matter their physical profile. My point is we do not necessarily need a physically imposing player at CDM. City won loads of trophies with Fernandinho or Gundogan at CDM. Liverpool were heavily linked with Zubimendi last season, only to settle for Gravenberch cause they couldn't get the deal done. Zubimendi was literally Slot's only high-profile target last season.

    Another thing is, players don't necessarily have to be tall in order to be physically dominant. For instance, Broony is 5'9'', yet he was probably our most physical player. Needless to say, Maeda is a striking example from our current squad.

    He's saying Rodgers wants only 3 first team players this summer which I find hard to believe.

    That would worry me. I'd say we need minimum 6.

    Unless he is classing Palma, Kwon etc as first team and not just prize assets. Hopefully.

    3 wouldn't be enough.

    Did he mention specific positions or just 3 players in general?

    I'd argue three seems about right assuming a) we keep all important players which is highly unlikely and b) we don't count 3rd stringers like Doohan and Osmand.
