He looks really good, my only concern is that he's a bit slow by the looks of things.

 

I think Rodger’s would maybe look at McGregor and see his legs are starting to go a little bit which is understandable , think Rodger’s may look at moving him forward one and allow a more athletic player to play the sitting role , don’t think it would be too much in Scotland but certainly in Europe. McGregor shooting improved massively last season aswell so maybe get a few more goals.

 

Kid looks incredible. Apparently Rio Ave’s buy option expires Tuesday. Even if they activate it, they’ll only be paying around £4.25m (€5m). Already looks worth more than that from the vid, and he’ll only be 21 in August.

Looks like he can read a game and find his tackles.
More like what we need in a defensive midfielder, but also looks happy enough to break forward when needed.

Pace maybe lacking and he looks a little cumbersome with the ball at his feet which would concern me about stepping up a level with us and having opponents doubling up on him more.

But for £5m, I'm intrigued.

Hopefully as McGregor’s career with us has been held back!! He is not a 6 but has had to play that for years cos his all round play is better than anyone else we have. He would score 15+ goals for us consistently if he played that 8/10 role.

100% agree with this. Saw a stat from the EPL that was % of games spent walking by players there… it was a stat made to show up a player and criticise him (can’t remember which forward it was now) but the one thing that stood out was van dijk was in the top 3/4.

that just shows if a players mind is good enough he doesn’t need to sprint about charging round the pitch. Especially not in our midfield

We're not made of billions. We cant afford players with that sort of profile. Even if we could, Zidane retired years ago.

Hate to make the comparison, but we are, or should be playing "moneyball".

Get the players in to do the jobs we need, and fill the gaps that need filling; the rest is on the tactical acumen of the manager.

This guy fills a BIG * HOLE in our midfield (if he is as advertised), and it opens up more natural roles for Cal and Engles.

It's why Wanyama stood out out so much for us.

He wasn't slow, was strong, good on the ball and excellent defensively, midfielders like him are rare.

Shouldn't be put off this boy due to his pace, get it done Celtic
