Celtic eye loan move for Man City kid Dedryck Boyata
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...ws/celtic-want-dedryck-boyata-on-loan-1287562
21 year old Belgian, 1 cap, can play CB or RB, played last season at Bolton on loan.
I've never seen him play or even heard of him, saying that Belgium have produced some good players of late. Would only really go for this if it was a loan to buy.

Oh yes, yes please. That would be simply delightful, no joke.
-
He's pretty good but not so good that he's worth loaning for a year without an option to buy.
-
I agree CS; but am also wary that in this transfer window, with only 48 hours left, we may have to bite the bullet in terms of preferred option - a player bought. Would rather have a loan deal than no deal, and the time is drawing in.....
-
True, but I think we've already got our men waiting in line. The press are just going into meltdown because they don't have a clue who they are. :56:
-
Yeah - this is very true. Expect a scattergun approach to press releases - just as long as the ones regarding "speed merchant" Humph are factually error-strewn, we should be ok!

He played at Bolton Wanderers last season on loan. Let's just say he was average at best! Not any better than what we have. give him a wide wide berth!
-
Again he's young, so can we not blood are own youngsters or have we no gems there ? The next few months is a good excuse to let the young bhoys take their opptunity.

Rest assured that conversations have already been had, club and players interests have been gauged and we are now ready to pounce.
Lennon is quoted in the DR today as saying we have the players lined up so they are coming in for medicals.
the only other thing which may cause a delay is if we are loaning players from other CL teams - we may need to wait for the draw tonight before we are sure we're not in the same group as say Man City for the likes of the above mentioned lad.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 30, 2012 -
Some good points, and I posted having already noted the "medicals" comment which sounded very promising. Just have to hope that everything has been well planned, the ducks are lined up, and that everything goes without a hitch.
How often does it work out that way, however....?
Especially good point re other CL teams. -
Can only see this boy as being cover - no real experience. Loan, with option to buy would be nice.
-
Why loan a player to sit on a bench? Pointless.
We need to buy a quality centre half that will at the very least push to be our stalwart at the back. -

Agree that is what we NEED to do mate - whether or not we can get it pushed through or not, time will tell. As per above, it does sound as if it's a case of dotting the "i's" / crossing "t's" etc etc.
As a footnote, I watched him a handful of times last season, and actually was quite impressed bar the Man U drubbing. But not one Bolton player played well that day. They were * hopeless. His season was also hampered with leg injury, but when he was back fit Coyle threw him straight back in again. -
I think if big Wilson can play like he did last night in every game do we really need another CB
