If were going to do any sort of damage in europe we need a proven goal scorer in europe.don't see russell as the answer.

 

Mad how we're down to the last 13 and a half hours and basically know heehaw about whos coming in.

 

i really will be furious if we hear the sad story of how we tried to get players in again,but im really optomistic this time well get someone as we have only 3 strikers and one of them is out for 2 months but i agree with the above its weird that nobody seems to know anything

 

I have heard that we are looking at making a serious bid for Stoke's Kenwyn Jones, personally I think that would be a great signing if it happened.

This is what concerns me. There can be no excuses. We've had 6 months to prepare and make a list of targets.

 

If we don't invest it will be a disgrace. 17 million minimum from the CL, 6.25 million for Ki and Rasmussen, an undisclosed fee for Juarez, another 9 players released and 5 loaned out. And the only business we have done is 2 million on Forster. Nevertheless I am confident we will invest today.

 

I'm sure we'll bring in a few players (a CB and a striker at least) but whether or not they are of the quality needed to improve the squad is the thing that worries me.

Kenwyne Jones and Efe Ambrose/* Boly would be unbelievable - won't get my hopes up, though.

i thought by now something would of been leaked about someone anyone

but i just dont see anything major happin apart from a late offer for one of our players

picture wanyama or hooper goes and celtic dont bring any one in

 

If people think we have not been working seriously hard on identifying the correct type of players for months, then I am shocked.

We know for a fact that the outcome of the CL qualifiers and where we stood would be a huge factor in the type of player we WILL make attempts to sign and I have no doubt that the players will come.

If we sign someone at £300k as opposed to £3m I will wait to see how they perform at first before giving it the old "Sack Lawwell" line

 

I reckon Russell and a centre half. A wee rumour going around we have offered 1m plus a player for Russell. Not a clue who the player is or could be for that matter.
