Agents work for the players.

Any young player who is ambitious is going to want to play at the highest level.

 

They do but they are always out for their own self interest. And they are very good at the job they do, they don’t make as much money persauding them to not get a big transfer with no agent fees attached.

 

It is to be fair. I know you won’t agree but for it is.

 

Stuff like ‘aw so and so is his agent so he’ll try and punt him to such and such’ doesn’t make any sense though.

If an agent in Scotland is constantly getting his players moves to the EPL it’s because players are asking him to get try and get a deal done for them to get down there. The agent didn’t take Armstrong, or now Christie, down to the EPL because of one good season. The players will have always been trying to get moves that suit them but had to wait until their form earned it. Armstrong tried to get a move the year before but ended up not getting one so signed a one year deal.


Like people (Or more embarrassingly the club)moaning about David Moss. He isn’t running around Scotland poaching young players to get them moves and make money. Young players see his contacts and now the top young talent in the country are flocking to him to try and get similar moves.

Agents are the perfect target for managers, clubs, supporters and even players for when a player leaves though.

Think our support in particular have a hard time accepting that playing for Celtic isn’t the be all and end all so always need a scapegoat but don’t want to think a player ultimately has bigger ambitions than us.

The same agents are also very good at getting them the best deals while they’re at us. When you have the option of some of these guys financially it makes sense, but they’re also good at unsettling guys who think they’re settled.

I get what you’re saying and it would make sense but they box clever, and a lot of the time they are acting in the players best interest by trying to get them the biggest moves possible even if the player is comfortable where he is.

Starting for Scotland tonight.

 

Was excellent on his debut..

Tired towards the end but was so composed on the ball..

This was a player who wasn't a regular for the under 21's because of Campbell and McCrorie

 

A class act and could be a vital player for Scotland at the euros, but I'm worried about him playing summer football after just finishing his first season back after a bad injury.

I'd much rather he was getting rested over the summer and preparing to be a pivotal player for our forthcoming season. If he gets a bad injury playing for Scotland I'll be * raging.

 

he reminds me of paul mcstay just how silky smooth he is, he just exudes class

so close to an amazing goal aswell

 

No wanting to get carried away but he’s basically Riquelme.

 

It could be absolutely massive for his development to play well at a major international tournament. There’s something really special about World Cup/euros football.

(I’m not dismissing your concerns by the way)

 

As long as he stays fit and scores the winner against England it's all good

 

Hope Turnbull stays under Ange, he’ll get double figures with goals and assists. If he stays fit I could see him doing a 15/15 season across all competitions and getting a move to a top PL team.

 

He's a serious player.

If we could find the balance in midfield that allows a DM to monitor and patrol, Turnbull dictating play and picking off passes and the ln mcgregor playing off the striker in a more advanced role the midfield would be lethal.

His ability to find a pass is probably the best celtic have ever seen had for the last 20 years. Big future for the lad.

 

Anyone notice his set piece deliveries in that Charlton game? Way too much height on his corners. We have been * at corners forever, when he first came in, he did deliver decent corners but have we now coached that out of him? Needs to whip them in with minimum height, just enough to clear first defender, looking at the Euro final on Sunday was night and day with our deliveries.

 

I mean, Italy had verratti on corners. * the best midfielder on the planet.
