I thought he was a bit meh for a long time. Largely because my idea of a good midfield player was (to some extent still is) someine lie Ki. Took me until 2013 before I really got what Broony brought.

He’s be within his rights to be * at being dropped for Bernardo tonight.

While he has been decent recently, this was not the type of game for him, just not mobile enough, fine when we dominate and have lots of possession but not a CL away game.

Was it the type of game for Bernardo? Turnbull at least has proven end product.

He is a far better technical footballer than he gets credit for.

After what he went through with the injury which looked like costing him his Celtic chance, to come back and play for Celtic shows the mans guts and determination. He can play excellent in games scoring from midfield and looking the real deal only for him to disappear in his next game and cliche or not we don’t know which player will turn up. If he stays it will be as a bit part/substitute role so he may decide to move on for more regular starts, pity really, we don’t have enough starting Scots.

Wonder what Iwata’s thinking about what he needs to do for more of a chance. Think every glimpse he’s been excellent, and away to one of the elite football teams in Europe, with Hatate out he didn’t ever seem to be in the list that would be trusted.

Turnbull I’m a massive fan of, and he has done everything to win that start midweek as well btw, but I didn’t think it was a game for him either.

And he was terrible when he eventually came on but I won’t blame him for that, we were utterly defeated physically, mentally and tactically at that point.

Another great goal. I think he'll leave us because he can be going that week in week out for a team that will start him every week.

He's got a fantastic strike on him.

Said it before but I'd like to see him alongside Hayate and McGregor, him and O'Riley is too slow a midfield, but he's clearly a goodvplayet

It's just managerial preference, I suppose, not to rotate loads of players. I know I'd never have the same starting XI if I was managing this much talent.:56:

Definitely a handy player to have for domestic games, all round he’s our worst midfielder but then he’s our most lethal player from outside the box shooting, some * right peg on him.

His striking technique from the edge of the box is top drawer. He has variety and the element of surprise, I think the entire stadium including his own players thought he was going to curl it top right with the way he shaped and then he sneaks a daisy cutter in bottom left.

Will be interesting to see where he would go. EPL is out of the question. Some say he would be ideally suited to Italian football due to the slow tedious pace of it.

You can copy and paste that comment for a lot of Turnbull’s games.
