Really happy for him..

Hopefully continues to prove us wrong and earns a new deal.

 

My thoughts pretty much. Any midfielder who scores at such a rate shouldn't be ignored especially when he creates plenty of chances too. He's never going to be a superstar but he seems to have become the supporters go-to villain as was the case with Taylor a year or two back.

 

Go'an yerself son. Keep banging 'em in.

 

Same amount of league goals as Kyogo, one behind O’Riley who’s smashing it this season, averages a goal every 96 minutes.

Scores goals that few in our team can or even attempt. Consistently creates opportunities, he’s about as reliable squad player as you could hope for.

 

Was well 0n it first half, extremely positive.

 

It does often seem that some supporters subconsciously can't fully get behind players that we signed from SPFL teams. It took Brown many years to get a certain element of the support off his back. Caldwell never quite convinced all of our support either, despite being a roll of honour internationalist. I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Turnbull is a peculiar one because he literally won a bunch of awards voted by the Celtic fans. His scoring stats are outstanding if you look at how many minutes he's played. We've not had someone who can score from distance the way he can since Commons. We should be viewing him as an invaluable squad player at the very least. Especially when we have huge champions league games to consider where rotation is important.

 

Delighted for him yesterday, proved a lot of people wrong including myself who complained about him starting.

I agree with everyone who says he's a very good squad player, no doubt about that given his numbers. I think what frustrates a lot of fans is he has quite a clear ceiling, I feel, and there are things lacking in his game that means he'll just never be a player who excels in our first XI week in week out. So when he plays ahead of players who some of us think could have that potential it feels like a waste. Still, can't complain too much - he was vital yesterday and that's the kind of contribution we need from him more, not just late goals when we're already cruising.

 

wanted Holm in ahead of him but he certainly proved me wrong! I do worry about him starting in big games however I just feel he goes missing in them far too often

Fair play to him though his ability to score goals from anywhere is superb.

 

"Intensity and ambition", "can move when he wants to" - think Rogers is saying he's lazy.

 

His ability to get goals has never been in doubt. Still start Iwata, Holm and Bernardo ahead of him.

 

There's definitely something in this.

 

Broony managed ok. There is no witch hunt against Turnbull. Why would any Celtic fan not want a Celtic player to do well? Simple fact is the vast majority of Celtic fans know we could and should do way better than Turnbull and Taylor.

 

Broony was called an empty jersey for a long time on this very website.

 

This wasn't a game for him tbf when down to 10.

Not the game for him, but looked even slower against higher class opposition.

Needs moved on.

 

No surprise away at a side like that down to 10. He'll just never cut it in those circumstances and we just need better for this level..

 

Cruelly exposed but as I said after the weekend, at this moment I’d keep him and punt Bernardo back home. Turnbull offers goals and assist in some games in the SPFL and you’d pay a few million for that.
