David Bentley says he has not ruled out leaving Blackburn to further his goal of becoming an England regular.
The 23-year-old is in talks with Rovers over a new contract but admits he wants to play regular European football in order to gain England recognition.
Rovers are still in the hunt for a Uefa Cup spot, but Bentley said: "Time will tell over the next few months what will happen. It's a big decision in my life.
"You never know in football. Sometimes you have to make strong decisions." <!-- E SF -->Bentley has shown in the past he is willing to take difficult decisions, handing in a transfer request at Arsenal in 2005 in pursuit of first-team football
I would have him in a minute instead of JV.

He wants European football though - he wont get in the team at Man U, Arsenal, Chelski, Liverpool, Spurs. Everton? I doubt it.
You never know. -
He'd oust Kuyt from Liverpools starting line up no bother. Too expensive and too big a name to be considered.

Fantastic player,
dont see him at celtic though :38: -
He would never get to Celtic because of finance but if we could afford him I don't think he would turn us down, but we can't.

He'll be at newcastle , they love a big money punt on pish
-
i would love to see this happen, but as mentioned... the wages would be 40-60 grand a week, Playing in Scotland will not better his chances at a English call up, and theres no way he'll leave the luxary's * have in Engerland!
and by the way... he can and does sometimes play as a striker! not mind that time he got a hatrick against arsenal when he was on loan... I was * myself! he was upfront then! and a few games since!
Real Madrid are reported to be interested in him, as they see him to have the same kind of potential, and media rights as Beckham. -

He'd play where Kuyt has been playing...
-----------------Torres------------------
--Babel--------Gerrard----------Kuyt-
Copy/Pasted from a Liverpool forum, he'd take Kuyt's place as that's where he's been playing, his goalscoring record in comparison from what it was in Holland is abysmal and Benitez has been playing him on the right this season in front of Pennant. -

FFS * :56:
Bentley will be the most sought after player in the Prem by the top 4 come the summer time. He's bound to be snapped up by one of them.
NOOOOOOO chance he would be able to afford him and NOOOOO chance he would come up the road to play in the backwater that is the SPL just as he is breaking into the England squad. -
not a hope in * would he come ere,

Think the 10million + fee and 60k + a week wages may be a stumbling block, and thats before u convince him to come to a league that lets Gretna in and cant draw 4 balls out a hat to make two semi-finals.
