He said it was because they were mates in the exact same sentence...

World champion Gary Anderson has revealed he deliberately lost a Premier League match against Adrian Lewis at Glasgow's SECC in 2011.
Scot Anderson, 44, led the match 3-0 but, with Lewis suffering "disgraceful" abuse, allowed the Englishman to reel off eight legs in a row to secure an 8-3 victory.
When asked if he intentionally lost, Anderson told BBC Scotland: "Yes.
"I didn't want to win a game where that happened; I thought it was a disgrace."

Lewis, 30, had beer thrown at him during his entrance to the arena, and coins were thrown onto the stage during the match.
"It was bad that night," said Anderson, who beat Lewis 10-4 in the final two months later.
"I'm a proud Scotsman but when that happened, it sickened me. Aidy is a good friend of mine. It was terrible."

Yeah so Aidy is a good friend of mine does mean he's good friends with him in my book :56:

I didn't mean he simply throw a match because it's his mate ffs!

Aye but it comes across to me like the real issue was the behaviour of the crowd. If he'd have been playing someone else he'd have probably done the same. Just seems like that kinda guy.

I personally lost respect for him for that.

I was there and heard the abuse Bunting got when Anderson faced him but a professional at anything should always act professionally and do their job.

You're probably right. If you were a player sitting there needing Anderson to win that game to help you qualify for the last four and you read that afterwards you'd be pretty miffed. Throwing a match also has significant consequences for the gambling fraternity(if you believe sportsmen should ever concern themselves with such things).

Have 20 on Lewis at 15/1 like I said but probably going to cash a good bit of it out.. Fancy Anderson to retain the title.

Aye Anderson hasn't started as well as yesterday. I'm sure he'll find form soon.
