[Link] Craig Gordon

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by Hammy89, Jul 9, 2011.

  1. He is a great keeper but wages and fee may be too high for a guy who lets face it is fairly susceptible to injuries

  2. Craig Gordon is a top keeper and I would love Him at Celtic. Does everything that we have lacked, I.e, greT at crosses, excellent shot stopper and one on ones.
Aye he's had a few injuries but fucksake don't let that stop us signing a great keeper

  3. Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon is on the club's radar.
The SPL giants are on the lookout for goalkeeping reinforcements after losing on-loan Fraser Forster[IMG] back to Newcastle[IMG] this summer.
Ex-Hearts man Gordon[IMG] is entering the final year of his Sunderland[IMG] contract and Lennon[IMG] admits the Scotland international is the type of player the club want to sign.
However, the Parkhead boss doubts whether Celtic's[IMG] wage structure would be able to accommodate the 28-year-old's financial demands.
"He's a good keeper but whether we could afford him or not is another thing," commented Lennon.
"He certainly fits the bill for the type of keeper we're looking for."

  4. He's very injury prone but there is no doubt he is a wonderful goalkeeper. I'd rather have him than Given, he's just as good, and seven years younger.

I'd take him in a minute, only thing is I wouldn't be particularly comfortable with Zaluska for the European games, maybe we could get Forster for another season and pre contract him in January.

  5. is he currently injured?

lol maybe that's why i feel i've been rubbed up the wrong way. on edge.

think £4m is too much. we're not going to be spending that on a player any time soon. he'd have to take a massive pay cut. think he is on around £30k the now. definitely wouldn't be happy paying him anywhere near that.

this deal is a long shot. not too sure i like it atm as he'll miss his the Europa qualifiers through injury.

  7. dont want this hun * anywhere near a celtic jersey , i can remember a time he did his best to stop us winning the league the night we beat hearts at home (BBJ scored 1-0) and he ran up for a corner in the last minute , why? , hearts had * all to play for and imo he was just trying to stop us winning the league that night

  8. Hearts were playing for second that night

  9. I would buy Gordon but the price is over rated and he would need to take a wage cut. Rather have shay tho.

would love for this to happen but not for 4 million. far superior keeper to given imo.

  10. Better than Forster but not as expensive as Given, would be a great signing for us.

  11. Aye your right man, * signing a quality Keeper cos he ran up the pitch to try and score against us in the last minute on the final day of the season, what a * he is.

Is he definetly out for the europa opener cos that article is old? Great keeper but injuries would be a concern.

  12. would rather get ben foster from brum

  13. he's a hun and you don't want him because he came up for a corner against us?

  14. In what way ??

  15. he is younger and better.

  16. Good keeper and would do a great job. I think 4 mil is a good price for a keeper of his quality and still has years ahead of him, would like to see this 1 going through but i just cant see it happenin imo

  17. You're right, he's a big hun * and I doubt he'd want to sign for us.

Wouldn't pay £4 million for a 'keeper anyway, plus he's injury prone and probably on daft wages.

  18. Hes younger but certainly not better.

  19. aye your right . thats good enough for me
