    1. hes not world class atall good keeper ye world class no

2 . last game he played for sunderland he flapped at every cross and cost sunderland the game its not often a manager singles one player out but bruce singled gordon out and i dont blame him i watch the game he looked nervous and awkward and couldnt even hold onto a simple shot .

    3. hes not over any injury he gets over 1 then another pops up not short term ones long term ones hes * completely .

4 . fraser foster is a young man mountain of a lad whos had some stick from the fans but is now proving his worth to this team infact if it wasnt for him in some games we probly wouldnt be on a ten game winning run the guy is potentially going to be a class gk and already a good one he deserves a deal not some broken down guy whos being forced out of sunderland because they are sick of carrying him .

People keep talking about money but isn't Gordon a free transfer this summer whereas Forster will cost £2 million ?

I'd be certain that Forster isn't on ridiculous wages though.

I wonder if he'd run up for a corner in the last minute against Hearts or the huns if he played for us?

There's a reason he's free. Big Fraz is getting better and better, bargain at £2m.

ahh hod on a mo. if we get the world class Gordon in, he could join others that have been described as world class on here such as the world class Cha, the world class McCourt and the world class Samaras.

he's a great keeper, no doubt. world class? pfft you're having a laugh. the term is banded about too often nowadays. Gordon is most definitely not world class. if he was, other clubs bigger than Celtic would be after him.

i think Forster is coming onto his game. why change? yes, Gordon is the better keeper when their both on form but for how long and how often is Gordon fit enough to challenge Forster's form? i would only take Gordon if Forster was to sign on the dotted line as well.

Over a 4/5 year contract Gordon would end up costing more.

Was all for getting Gordon on a pre contract at the start of the season but Forster has been great recently and seems to be improving with every game so I'd stick with him.

the 2 million it would cost for Forster would pay Gordons wages for 2 years.

Forster has been good for a month or two but otherwise he has not been great. I dont understand the mystic meg mentality that assumes he will keep on some sort of improvement curve and turn into a great goalie. There are lots of goalies who look decent in their eary-mid 20s but never become great. You are not a great goalie until you are one. No point in living on hope. Gordon already is a great goalie. Its nonsense that he is finished. He broke his arm twice and then a bad knee. That is bad luck rather than some sort of career threatening thing.

Which IMO would be fine. I would rather get a great goalie virtually out of contract for 3m of wages than a so-so goalie for 2m fee who we dont know whether he will ever be great.

who is to say it was unlucky that he broke his arm twice? could the first break not weaken his arm?

having slipped down the pecking order at Sunderland when he was fit is hardly uplifting.

i'll be happy to have either tbh. you can't ignore that they come without their risks. Gordon seems to be more susceptible to injuries - you can call it for whatever reason, being luck or proneness - the fact is he has been injured a lot recently. on the other hand, Forster may never reach his potential. it's a gamble either way. imo i'd have Forster above Gordon on the transfer list. he is starting to 'find' himself. i would like to see where that leads him and us.

This story is garbage. It stems from a "JordanMcCallion" on SS transfer clockwatch which links to chris_kammy Twitter page. Look for yourselves on the Chris Kamara Twitter page. Not a mention of Craig Gordon, Celtic or Ikea.

he was really good years ago hes been injury plagued not had alot of football and that is the reason SAFC want rid of him listen bhoys its a no brainer big ff deserves his jersey and is only going to get better and better craig gordon is finished imo and wont ever reach any heigh he was once at .

to coin a phrase used by the great Tommy Docherty describing the comparison between Tom Forsyth and Martin Buchan.

    Well in this case-:

Forster is the carthorse and Gordon is the thoroughbred.

never seen the big deal in gordon tbh , i still strugle to believe he went for 9 million ffs , cause if he was 9 million at that time , what was borucs value ? must have been astronomical !

keep big fraz , the face on pardew of him going for 2 million when he turns out to be a great keeper will be priceless !

So why is Gordon, 'the thoroughbred', who you've said yourself is 'fit and over his injuries', now 3rd choice at Sunderland?
