Gordon has no competition that's the problem Bailly is a bombscare and Fasan could be good but needs a full season away on loan playing regularly before we can judge him

He's not even 3 years older than Gordon.

Can be prone to trying to be a bit too clever at times. Although I wouldn't describe last night as an outright blunder, he chose the wrong option as it led to a goal.

The * happened to Gordon. Real quality keeper, he's just went right down hill since his first amazing season where many people were saying he was better than Forster and Boruc.

Must be really low on confidence.

He has always had these lapses. I remember when Rix was the wee Huns manager. They came to CP flying high and were beating us 1-0 until the last 20 mins. Our equaliser I think he flapped at. And last minute winner he dropped it to the feet of big Mick if my memories right. Cost Hearts 3 points that day. Incidentally my wife jumped up and cheered when them * scored first ffs.:smiley-laughing002:

His first season one of the main reasons a lot of people liked him where he came off his line a lot and claimed crosses and generally just commanded his whole box well. Forster before him was scared to come off his line.

But then he's stopped doing that or he's coming off his line at set peices like a dumpling and getting caught out.

    Fuknos whats happened.

New options for a keeper then?

I reckon Bailly's worth giving a run of games and has never really been given a shot. He's also never put a foot wrong in his handful of appearances, although he takes risks with the ball at his feet and likes camera saves, meaning I'd * it whenever he had the ball. Having said that, a bit of madness and personality is sometimes a good thing in keepers as they thrive on confidence. Boruc was a bit of a showman, and one of the world's best keepers - Neuer - is a bit mad himself.

Goalkeeper is a nightmare to replace as it's almost always a gamble at our end of the market. Any goalkeeper who we know could come in and be top class is out of our price range, while I can't think of any off the top of my head that'd be worth a gamble so you're really looking at taking a punt into the unknown or relying on a bit of luck.

Are any of this lot worth bringing in on a free? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tran...land_id=alle&wettbewerb_id=alle&seit=0&plus=1

Bailly just seems like decent back up. I like Gordon but as people said confidence is maybe gone. New defence might finally sort that.

CG on Astana: “It was a tough game…it was nervy, it was a battle and one we did well to come out of in the end.

CG on the goal: “I don’t blame myself for it…I think I made the right call. I’ve watched it again this morning with Woodsy...

..to clear the first danger was the immediate priority, I managed to do that….it was just one of those freak goals.

CG: “We move on to the next game, we’ve got a big one coming up at the weekend.

CG on Tynecastle: “It’s always nice to go back, the players love the atmosphere and are looking forward to going there.

Except he was playing behind a strong backline. Not his first time to rush out and cause issues. Communication is a big weakness for him.
