He was excellent at time's last year and I was praising him from the roof tops for being bargain of the last however many year's. He's been catastrophic all season now though . An absolute shambles and complete riddy..

Gordon came back from horrendous injuries too and had to earn a contract here remember?

    Both class keepers.

Yes and has been class at times but his form has definetly suffered due to our defence being an absolute riot at times

Has his form dipped because of the defence in front of him or is the defence looking shaky because Gordon isn't playing as well as he has done?

Gordon is nowhere near to Forster or Boruc. Both world class goalkeepers.

I'd say Forster was actually the most under rated goalkeeper in Europe right now. His clean sheet records are no coincidence he is a brilliant keeper. The best English one by far into the bargain.

Forster is an unbelievable goalkeeper in the elite group imo. Truly world class . Baffles me they still keep harping on about Joe Hart being England's best .

Would love us to pull a rabbit out of the hat this summer and find another great keeper.

    Both, unfortunately!

You can lay a lot at the feet of our mix and match/suicide play defence, but some of the simple near post/long range/uncleared corners stuff from Gordon has cost us dearly this year too

Forster IMO is one of the best keepers in the world never mind the EPL. Miles ahead of Gordon.

I would play Bailly ahead of him for sure at the moment. Give him a shock at least.

Bonner, boruc and forster by miles!
Even on trial pletikosa was better at commanding his area and dealing with set pieces.

Gordon is very much middle of the ground for me. Not a terrible keeper, but he has some massive flaws in his game.

We alwaya say, if we had boruc in 2003 we would have won the uefa cup.
See if we had Gordon in 2003 I honestly dont think we would have got to the final.

Bailly definitely deserves a shot at the number 1 jersey, though I doubt ronny will risk upsetting the team setup while everything is still in the balance. Which is daft, as Gordon is part of the big reason for our failings.

I really like his comeback story, and he was top class last year. I was even shouting for him to be made vice captain cos of how confident he looked and he was screaming at guys in the box.

This season he looks a shadow of that keeper from last season. To even compare him and big Fraser just now is crazy.

Forster was one of the best about when he was here and hes proving it week in, week out against top class players now. One of the best in the world for me and not even at his peak.

Gordon has never been at that level and obviously wont reach it now. Think he £9m price tag all those years ago skews peoples opinions of him a bit.

When we were looking like losing Forster I was a bit worried as to where we'd find a suitable replacement. Decent 'keepers are hard to find, and when you do they usually cost a fair few quid.

We managed to snap up a player in Craig Gordon who would probably have cost us a few million at least a few years back, and we got him for nothing.

He's a decent enough 'keeper, does a job, but the truth is if he was at the level of Forster he'd not have come back to play in Scotland in the first place.

    He is what he is.

I'd agree with what a few have said, give Bailly a shot.

He's been fine whenever I've seen him play and he looks like he has a bit of a swagger. Whereas Gordon stands like a statue and looks nervous.

Bailly's passing is what Ronny wants from a keeper I'd give him a go
Seeing Forster keeping 6 clean sheets in a row and knowing we sold him for 10 million hurts if we were an EPL club we could have close to 30 for him I rate him that highly

I dont understand the criticism. Sure he has had a few bad kicks lately and a few real howlers in high profile games but he has been very solid for us and a good keeper.

This Season, Gordon would be lucky to be on a par with Douglas.

Shot stopping and nothing else, Gordon's high profile mistakes also seem to get brushed under the carpet whereas everyone seems to remember Douglas' 15 years later...
