I would say down to a fair few sub standard performances that have revealed his true level and how he played when he was first with is was basically beginners luck for lack of a better phrase

 

I am happy for him to leave, as long as it's on loan (I don't want him playing against us this season).

He's been a good signing on the whole, but I just couldn't take to him.

 

He made a few errors and isn't at the level of Forster but then again, not many are.

In terms of a keeper who is happy to be 2nd/3rd choice, knows the league,isn't on a fortune and can come in when required to do a job, I can't think of many better than Bain.

All you need to do is look at the options we've had in the last 15 years to see that: De Vries, Cervi, Zaluska, Mark Brown

Overrated in my opinion.

 

Bain can be trusted. He is a competent goalkeeper, and that is all that we can reasonably expect from a goalkeeper who is content to sit out most games.

 

I would be tempted to offer a loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Ensures we line up against Hearts with them having to play a second string keeper while sevco play against Gordon, who for all his faults is a good shot stopper and capable of the odd outstanding performance.

 

He's a decent third choice, I don't think we'd be likely to get any better. I just don't trust him to be number 1 or number 2 any more after the Cluj debacle. I don't think that was just a bad day at the office, I think he showed the weaknesses in his game that night.

 

I'd be doing the opposite.

Sell him on deadline day but the next 2 nights while he's sleeping, play subliminal hypnotic messages on a CD player:

"You're a great keeper Craig....the best....you can skin that guy Odsonne....he's not even that good....it's all hype....go on Craig...show him your step-overs....Summer is watching you in the stand"

"Don't kick it long Craig....pass it out to Christophe...it doesn't matter that Christie is right behind him....he is a composed and confident man....like you....kick it out softly Craig"

 

Get him sold.

 

Getting money for a 38 year old third choice goalkeeper would be one of the most fantastic things this board ever achieved, without irony.

Problem is, with Bain injured, Hazard and Doohan loaned out, who would sit in the bench?

 

Bain was not at fault for our defeat that night.
