Gordon was presented with a commemorative medal prior to the match at Pittodrie by Aberdeen and Scotland legend Willie Miller after earning his 50th cap in the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia in early October.

“I didn’t know that was happening,” he said. “I knew at some point I would get a medal for reaching 50 caps.

“It was nice to get that from Willie, especially in Aberdeen. He made a little speech and it was an absolute honour to receive it from someone like him.

“It is also an honour to reach 50 caps for my country as not many people do. I’m only the third goalkeeper to do it.

“I’m only one behind Alan Rough so I’m gunning for him. I have two more to get second place although I’m still a long way behind Jim Leighton.”

Gordon will now enjoy the free weekend to bank some much-needed rest before a hectic schedule kicks off at club level, with a visit to France to take on Paris Saint Germain and the League Cup final against Motherwell at Hampden to look forward to.

And he says that Celtic's hunger to keep their long unbeaten domestic run remains, despite surpassing their own British record of 63 games without defeat by beating St Johnstone last week.

“I don’t think we have a free midweek between now and the winter break,” he said.

“We have a lot of games in a short space of time, so we need to knuckle down. It is a tough run and the final is not far away.

“We want to go into that in as good a frame of mind as we possibly can.

“There is going to be no let up, so we need to be ready. We want to try and keep the record going as long as we can.

“A lot of hard work has gone into getting it and we want to try and stretch it as far as we can.

“We know it will go one day so we need to enjoy it while it lasts.”

CG: We’ve learned quite a bit from the first game. We knew @PSG_English were a good team and we sat off a little bit. We can be more aggressive than what we were in the first game.

CG: They have one of the best front lines I’ve ever faced. I’ve been lucky enough in my career to come up against some of the best strikers in the world at some point and they are up there with the best I’ve seen.

CG: They’ve not even been losing goals, so it’s difficult for anyone to come here and think about getting a win, never mind a draw. We want to try & stay in the game for as long as possible & we’ll look to get a good start. That’s what we’ll concentrate on trying to do.

CG: @PSG_English is a club that’s at the top of European football right now. They have some of the best players in the world who work together, day-in-day-out, so they know how to play together.

CG: That, for me, would make it an even bigger achievement (thank Scotland’s win over France in Parc des Princes) because I think this team are even better than what that team were. Anything like that would be a sensational result

CG: I know what I’m up against and I don’t feel a great deal of pressure about that. I’ll go out there and try and make some saves and keep the team in the game for as long as I can. I won’t be losing much sleep tonight. I’m looking forward to it.

CG: When we play well in Europe we always give ourselves a chance to take something from the game and I think we’re going to have to do that, and probably more, especially here. It’s a huge challenge, but it’s one that we’re going to enjoy facing.

CELTIC’S opening match in the group stages of this season’s UEFA Champions League was as tough a test as any side faced in the competition, with Paris Saint-Germain’s star-studded squad visiting Glasgow and recording an emphatic victory on the night.

However, ahead of the corresponding fixture in the French capital tomorrow night (Wednesday), there is a belief within the Hoops squad that there has been positive progress in their European campaign.

An impressive 3-0 victory over Anderlecht in Belgium has put Brendan Rodgers’ side in a strong position to secure third place in the group and guarantee European football after Christmas, while the recent performance at home to Bayern Munich, while not yielding any reward in terms of the result, certainly showed that this Celtic side are capable of competing against the continent’s top sides.

Speaking ahead of the game in the Parc des Princes, Craig Gordon admitted it will be a tough task to take on a PSG side who have yet to concede a goal in the group, but it’s a challenge he and his team-mates are looking forward to.

“We’ve learned quite a bit from the first game,” the Celtic goalkeeper admitted. “We have a game-plan and we know what we’re coming here to try and do. We know it’s going to be very difficult to implement that but we want to give ourselves a chance to stay in the game as long as possible.

“We knew PSG were a good team and we sat off a little bit. We can be more aggressive that what we were in the first game. We didn’t make enough tackles and we’re looking to do more of that in this game.”

Celtic go into Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash having extended their unbeaten domestic run to 64 games with a 1-0 win over Ross County last weekend.

And that form, allied to the impressive display against Bayern Munich at Celtic Park on matchday four, means confidence is high within the Hoops squad, though they are well aware of the magnitude of the task which faces them.

“They’ve been good performances,” Gordon said of the European displays, “and when we play well we give ourselves a chance in the games, although we didn’t hit the heights we expected of ourselves in the first game against PSG.

“It’s a huge challenge, but it’s one that we’re going to enjoy facing. We’ve worked very hard to get ourselves in this position but we want to go out there and give a good account of ourselves. If we can do that then we’ll see what comes after that.

"You know you’re going to come up against the best strikers in the world, but I don’t feel a great deal of pressure about that. I’ll go out there and try and make some saves and keep the team in the game for as long as I can. I won’t be losing much sleep tonight. I’m looking forward to it."

No much in front of him here to be fair. Two centre halves couldn't organise a gang bang in a brothel tonight

To be fair to the centre backs, they are pretty pish but they're clearly not getting shouts from Gordon letting them know where the runners are because they look * lost.

Those two goals by the * are decent finishes but I kinda think he could do a bit better on them tbh.
