Lustig is never a centre back.

Exactly, my friend. Bit of pace and Lustig struggles big time, regardless of the quality. Case in point.

He has the quality to play in there just needs time to adapt, he's not got the pace to play at right back for the style of play we want. We need a fast player that will overlap all game, Lustig hasn't got the legs to do that anymore. Rodgers has already played him at centre back several times, think he sees him as good cover for in there which I'd agree with.

He's more of a CB now than a RB, IMO.

Agreed. He is a bombscare at centre back.

We should just have run down his contract.

Still looks quite nervous at CB sometimes.

His lack of pace for RB is a worry though. He's never been rapid but it's only going to get worse as he ages.

At the highest level it is a worry for me.Despite his experience.

    Agreed.

As much as I love him, he should be getting phased out in the near future. For the way we play, we could be doing with a right back with pace and energy. A right sided Tierney essentially, albeit getting someone of his quality won't be easy.

This is what we need. A right sided Tierney. That would make the back line water tight.

You say that as if with Lustig at RB we aren't solid defensively. I really don't get the notion that his leg's are made of mollasses. He's not the fastest player in the world but he's also not the Lustig of last season. He's back to being completely fit, and he's playing with a solid set of CB's beside him. He's as good a defender as we have IMO, just not the quickest. Just signed an extension and were already talking about needing to replace him. Gamboa is a good compliment to him, we have bigger needs then RB.

You have been duped like a Hun by the media.

Cutting inside Lustig twice at Ibrokes does not constitute the second coming of Lionel Messi or indeed 6 million quid bids from Salzburg.

I'm as far removed from 'Hun media' as anyone. I don't watch them, don't read up on them, don't post about them, don't associate with any of them, live in a different continent.

    Duped - I'm afraid not.

Behave.. mentioning Messi. An average player that done Lustig numerous times due to a good burst of speed, that's the whole point.

My point remains, he never 'done' anyone once never mind numerous times. He cut inside the pitch twice before delivering zero end product.

If somehow you believe you've seen something different then watch the game back.

His end product was pish but he had the beating of Lustig, in the first half in particular. It was blatant.

Lustig fouled him a couple of times and I'm sure ended up getting booked for a foul on McKay.

Had the beating of is pure hyperbole. What has he done against Lustig which has helped his team beat Celtic? Nothing.

As I said, he cut inside him twice at pace then did * all with it. Even going back to the cup semi, he scored from the opposite side of the park.

The media are attempting to make out his performance against Lustig proves he's a world beater. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Windass burst past Brown a couple of times in the 5-1 game, did he have the beating of Broony?
