It is a position we should be looking to strengthen, however at the moment with what we have available then Gordon gets the nod and by quite a distance I think.

He has some flaws in his game but he is a great shot stopper first and foremost and as that is a keepers main job then that should take priority over a keeper who can ping a 40 yard pass but can't save for *.

Although speaking about pinging 40 yard passes, I've still to see this "excellent distribution" that DDV is meant to have.

Far too many times now he has came out with those sort of silly runs. And too often he is not needing to do it - players is running away from goal or a defender is still there to be in control.

He is trying, i get that, but he isn't good enough at the level we are wanting him to be at. We need better.

All said, a few cracking saves lately, so credit where it is due, but I'm afraid not the solution to a problem. A make do.

Played very well, but yet again he get's the rush of blood and comes charging out his box, ref could've shown a red, luckily he didn't, but Gordon really needs to get this out of his game.

Kept us in it. Wish he'd stop running out his box to knock * out though.

Couple of really crucial saves and a lovely King fu kick.

    He's been very good recently.

100% a red for me. If somecunt flying kneed one of our players on the upper back, I'd want him sent off.

Getting back to previous form. Some world class saves. Clear also that he has been working on his distribution ....

Nah not for me. I'm sure the first time he did it every ref that was asked said yellow was correct. That was worse than this one.

Either one, if it's an outfield player, he's sent off. Should be no different for a keeper.

Something the Rapist over at the Huns always used to do, go out studs up because keepers get away with it.

See if Joe Garner done that to Tierney or something, I'm 100% sure you wouldn't be saying just a yellow.

One moment of madness but otherwise played well tonight.

For me the free kick was a yellow. I think he went in expecting he was going to kick the ball away but kind of realised he was getting nowhere near it so didn't raise his foot, so ended up taking the player out with his knee/body. It was wreckless, but it wasn't as dangerous as it looked, and it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Despite this he's clear first choice at the moment IMO as De Vries did next to nothing to impress in his handful of games.

I disagree, don't think an outfield player would see a red for that.

Really? Jumping in with the knee from about 3/4 yards away to knee them high up their back? That's dangerous as *.

I'll need to see it again but I don't think it was as dangerous as your text makes it seem

Stupid and clumsy, but never a red card. Good call from the ref.
