Just watching the end of the game there anyone else notice he seemed a little bit * off? his handshake with Brendan seemed a bit frosty too the body language of a guy who know he's about to be replaced

All he ever wants to do with the ball is play it short to a central defender.

Even though we had a guy in Dembele today who was winning almost everything in the air.

It's not like when he is playing it out from the back it 'gets us going' either, it's a pass that will either end up being played back to him or the defender does what Gordon should've and hits it up field.

He does do this sometimes. A totally non-creative pass to his nearest defender. However, the majority of the time he hoofs the ball up the pitch, aimlessly and to no one.

He done it early in the game. Back pass and he played a lofted ball up to O'Connell just outside the box and put him in all sorts of bother..

Just watched the end bit again. Nothing in it with Rodgers in my opinion..

I might be wrong but he almost and/or did set Griff up for a few sights at goal with some of those 'short' 70 yard passes.

This is going to sound strange after how much I've slated the guy recently, but I actually now feel sorry for him that his No.1 position is in jeopardy.

Don't get me wrong, I do still feel we need a new No.1 GK because for me Gordon has now used his 9 lives.

But it's the fact that first of all he's worked soo hard to get to where he is now without breaking down again, has been very reliable fitness wise these last 3 seasons now. Knocked back a massive pay off so that he could continue playing again, has aspirations of remaining our No.1 GK and is desperate to experience the CL.

Added to all this the last couple weeks I've been impressed with his attitude, not looking at our penalties against Astana because of nerves (I was almost the same haha) and also at Tynecastle against a side he's supported all his life by all accounts, but he was trying play mind games to put their PK taker off and got booked for his troubles but it was good to see still and then when he was wasting time near the end and punching the air at the full time whistle. He's a lot more passionate than I had him down as, but his embrace with Brendan at the end of the match spoke volumes for me imo, it just looked a bit off to me and I don't know if anyone else noticed that.

As I've said though, with the ball at his feet he won't be good enough for Brendan's style, his kicking could be a lot better, he is a shocking penalty stopper, doesn't command his box enough, is very suspect and prone to flapping at opposition set pieces, I've lost a lot of faith in his general shot stopping now as well, clean sheets are not a regular thing for him.

It's a shame, but whether he's happy to be about to become 2nd choice GK I'm not so sure.

He's a good GK, we were spoilt with Boruc and Forster and he's not up there with them but he's a good player in his own right. If we can sign better, happy days; but there are other priorities for the next couple of windows IMO.

He's command of the box isn't great, but he makes up for it with his shot stopping. He's a good GK for us even if he's not perfect.

Need to face facts that he isnt good enough anymore

Nonsense passes from the back, hoofing it to no one, flapping about like a * against crosses, poor decisions, woeful penalty save attempts, tipping hearts to kill dead things every year.... enough is enough.

Some of our support need to get this "he's a 10M pound keeper" * out of their heads.

He's a 10M dud who went to sevco with his cap in his hand.

Agree.. guy has to work on dealing with crosses.. and maybe having a decent defence would assist with that.

every footballer makes mistakes but keepers sure get attention when it happens. he has flapped at or completely misjudged too many crosses recently. Worrying !

He just looks so nervous and on edge ever since those mistakes against Inter. I think bringing Vorm in could bring the best of Gordon out again and we could have two good keepers pushing eachother on.

If he has some time out sitting on the bench he can get a bit of pressure relief and have some time to himself to work on his game and come back as good as we know he can be.
