yeh without a doubt. He was nominated for the Fifa world XI in 2008. One of 5 keepers.

it was brief though, his season after the euros was poor by his standards, his last season, he was better, but not amazing.

We mustn't forget that McGregor has been sensational at times in European games, im not saying he is as good as Boruc or anything, he isnt, Boruc was much more of a presence etc.....but, i dont think McGregor gets enough credit sometimes, i dont like the guy, but id say he was a very good keeper

He did well at times I wouldnt say sensational though.

He was suited to the anti-football being played as it meant the only real things he had to face were close range efforts from crosses or set peices which is his strength.

Can you recall McGregor making a 1 on 1 save coming off his line? neither can I. All his best saves are from headers or close range shot.

I think he gets far too much credit, I've heard the likes of Neil McCann describe him as one of the greatest keepers in Scotlands history. He's not, he is an excellent shot stopper. As I've said before Rangers are set up in such a way that plays to his strengths. Which is good tactically; however he makes a very high number of mistakes and he has a lot of weaknesses.

His performances in the Champions League though.... I would never call 'sensational' never has he had anything like Artur did against Man Utd, Milan or Benfica. McGregor done very well in the run up to Manchester 2008 but outside of that he has never had what I'd call a sensational Champions League performance.

Also Internationally he has never had an excellent performance, I can remember a good few saves but they are ones that you would expect a keeper to make. I would say he is a wee bit better than Fraser Forster but nowhere near Arturs level.

He just hasn't got that kind of ability or has he got the brains of Artur's goalkeeping.

I don't like the guy either; I also hated Andy Goram more than anyone I've ever seen in a Rangers strip but I know that he was an astonishing goalkeeper.

I find it hilarious when guys say Scotland have 2 world class keepers. We have two goodish keepers.

But guys like Al Habsi and Howard are better verions of Gordon.

And guys like Robinson, Vorm and probably even Rob Green are better versions of McGregor.

I'd agree with all of that outside of Rob Green.

Whats all these bad games Boruc had for us??? Yes he made a couple of mistakes but to say he had some awful games for us in nonsense in my opinion. Can you name any of these awful games or tell me how many games his mistakes actually cost us??

rangers when he spilled the shot for miller, you remember the squiggler? what about the other one against hibs where he cost us 2 goals and we lost? the one against dundee when he ran out and missed it, the one against motherwell when his positioning was awful, thats the ones i remember, bound to be a couple more

that hibs game he was AWFUL, to say otherwise is denial, thats all the ones I can remember, but probs one or 2 ive missed, some people said that he was at fault for Man Utds goal here in the 1-1 game, but ill let him off with that one, ronaldos fks are deadly

i liked Artur, but im not blind to his faults like alot of people seem to be, there was a stage where there was talk of boruc being dropped, that doesnt happen for no reason, it was a period when he made a couple of mistakes and every game inbetween was nervy, i remember watching a cup game on bbc after a blunder and he was flapping at everything

he wasnt flawless by any means

edit: dundee utd too when naka got a hattrick, didnt cost us but still a mistake

He did go through a period like that in his third season with us. The rest of the time he was excellent.

I'm not blind to his blunders, however I do know that his blunders were tied in with a very hard time in his life. Artur unfortunately doesn't have the strength of character to leave that at the door.

The 1-1 game against United he was excellent. He is without doubt the best keeper I have ever seen for Celtic. I know he had his blunders however outside of his 3rd season they were very few and far inbetween.

Even under Tony Mowbray he was one of the only players who could hold his head up high, along with Aiden McGeady and Robbie Keane.

I remember his 3 or 4 mistakes. What im saying is i cant remember him costing us any games apart from maybe the hibs game away were "the squiggler" happened. The rangers game we were 3-1 down near the end when he flapped that cross into millers path, the other one he missed was in a cup game which we won. The press were giving him a hard time but they took any excuse to do that. To say he has had many poor games just isnt true. Never let us down and when it came to the big games he was exceptional , forget all the holy goalie stuff, on pure goalkeeping ability he was and still is a quality goalkeeper and better than Forster.

FF done well in the Europa League group stages last season, young and a bright future ahead of him.Why some people would want injury prone has beens ahead of him is strange.

Untested? Think he's played around 90 games for us. Long trial.

He was also beaten easily at his near post in that hun game for a goal by Cousin. He made numerous, costly, mistakes in Europe as well. At least 3 against Man United and one against Villareal when he was beaten by a free kick that went in almost the centre of his goal. To say he never let us down in big games and that he was exceptional is just laughable.

    Just Can't Get Enough.
    Boruc
    Gordon
    Forster

    In that order for me.

However, if we sign any of them I'll be happy. All 3 are very good keepers.

From SSN that we have failed to agree terms with him, 3 Year Deal was the offer, interesting we were still trying to sign him despite apparently signing Forster.
