I fully agree you here Gunt.

Gordon on top form is the best out of the 3.

I'd be happy to keep FF, but I'd very much welcome Gordon.

I think looking at the bigger picture I would take cg and have zaluka as no2 he has not put a foot wrong when needed , and I think if we do get ff he would be off in a couple of seasons, cg in Europe is a must

I said its clear not he's made it clear .

He's had the chance to sign for ages but he's obviously holding out for an epl club . Which imo shows he feels he can do better than us

I know you can't become a bad keeper overnight but has anyone see Craig Gordon play a game recently?
Why haven't there been any interest since January? (Able to sign a Pre-Contract with anyone)
He's been so injury prone since moving down south for some reason. So me personally wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

He'll probably want really good wages and end up spending most his time out injured, so for that reason I would rather pass on Gordon imo

No thanks then. If we cant get Forster I would perhaps see what Blackburn are looking for Paul Robinson.

See Stuart Kerr. He was an absolutely brilliant young goalie before he knackered his back and was never the same. He was incredible at one on ones and came way off his line for crosses etc. Not a great shot stopper in the Artur mould but similar to Bonner. I think he was a tragedy along the lines of JFK. Thought he could have been a world class goalie.

Yeah, I remember him well from my younger days at CP. I really thought he was going to be phenomenal. A real tragedy indeed.

He was GK coach at Motherwell when John Ruddy was there. Now he's in the England squad. Good to see SK having an impact on the coaching world.

I'm not talking about his 'crazy patch' I'm talking about basics of goalkeeping. He doesn't know when to come off his line or when to stay on it, Samaras punished him for it and so did Manuel Pasquali this year.

The likes of the El Kaddouri goal, Commons goal that was straight down the middle, some mistakes for Scotland...

He is highly overated, what he is, is a very good shotstopper. I don't think you could rely on him in a more attacking team. If he needs to be the one that patrils his box, instead of defenders helpIng him by sitting on his 18 yard box you would see his problems come to the fore.

He is a good keeper but he is extremely overated.

Can't stand him, plus he's an injury ravaged wreck. Hope we stay well clear, we'd be off our heads to sign him on hefty wages given his injuries, and the pitiful amount of games he's played recently.

Think Paul Robinson could be tempted? Valuable experience and a solid keeper.

this reminds me of Boruc though

you need to remember that along with a few bad games, McGregor has had some huge performances against us, in europe, and with scotland, much like Boruc

but the Boruc also made a couple of errors vs Huns, made a bunch with Poland, and had some awful games for us, some of his "Blunders" have been forgotten, one thing about Artur that people seem to forget is that he sometimes flapped at crossed balls.

what i mean in a nutshell is that they are both Excellent and spectaular goalkeepers, but both have alot of mistakes in them.

McGregor is overrated by the Huns, but...people on here said that Boruc was in the Top 5 goalkeepers in the world, thats overrating him, yes he had a terrific Euro 2008, but 3 good games doesnt suddenly make you in the Top 5, thats seasons of good play, Boruc never ever achieved that consistency

so, McGregor and Boruc are similar, two Mistake Prone, but very good goalkeepers with badboy reputations, who were a little overrated by their respective fans.

Boruc was better than McGregor though

The Naka goal too he should have saved. When he was on loan at Dunfermline too in the 2006 League Cup final against us, he ran out and barged into his own player, letting Zurawski walk the ball into his net.

McGregor has good reflexes and is quick at close range shots/headers.

But he's poor 1 on 1 and poor with crosses and shots from outside the box.

See Boruc just had his 'crazy moments' everything outside it is great, his positioning, when he comes out of his box, his commanding of the box is all excellent. Boruc was far more than than just a shot stopper, for me the difference between Boruc and McGregor is the difference between Kris Boyd and Gary Hooper.

Boruc was top 10 at one point, without doubt. Performances in the Euros and the Champions League proved that.
