I couldn't disagree more. He's looked like a cat stuck in the headlights almost every time he's been brought in out of necessity. I thoight a lot of him when he was with United, but he's been a catastrophe waiting to happen in the first team.

sorry mate but we have to agree to disagree here; i've been happy with him in any game i've seen him playing for us.

only time i can remember him conceding a few was THAT game at st mirren but he can hardly be blamed for the 4 goals conceded.

Call it bad luck then, but he's got a history of 'bad luck'. I don't want a bad luck goalkeeper at Celtic any more than I want somebody with chronic injuries. Also, whilst arm breakages are unfortunate, he's had knee trouble as well.

Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge that, when fit, he's an excellent goalie. I also agree that whilst Forster is a solid performer (who I wouldn't be upset with if we signed), McGregor is the best goalkeeper in the country. I'd be happy with FF signing, but if we are measuring him against McGregor, then I'd want more of a sure thing than Gordon. Again, don't get me wrong, I'd love it if we signed Gordon and I was proved wrong...

    Who?

and while stats may lie, clean sheets are still clean sheets and FF deserves credit for his efforts and while you may think GG is on a similar level to McGregor but when does he play for his team, since he has signed for them he has basically turned into the scottish kieron dyer and is lucky to play a handful of games a season.

FF is still only 23 much much younger in goalkeeper terms then those two and has steadily been improving each year and has no real long standing injury problems and the much greater potential to be a great GK for years and is also a much safer option then GG

and while you feel McGergor is the better keeper with the way things are looking he won't be in scotland for much longer once liquidation starts

I find it funny that some people wouldn't take Craig Gordon because of injury problems but they'd take Michael Owen... Ironic no?

Only Goalie I want between the sticks is big Fraser Forster, he has proven time and time again he's a cracking goalkeeper and at what "23" years of age he's sure to get nothing but even better.
Craig Gordon is way too Injury Prone and I really don't want him to be our No.1 next season :38:

Personally, I think Gordon would be a great acquisition for Celtic.

A top goalkeeper no doubt who has had problems with injury.

On a free, plus I don't think his wages would be astronomical - would be worth taking a punt on.

That said, I'd still rather we try for Forster, and if he plays hardball, then Boruc would be my number one target as replacement.

Alan McGregor is the most overated goalie I've ever seen. Very mistake prone, who can pull of some very good saves.

Forsters concentration and positioning is streets ahead of McGregor.

I would like Gordon here too but I would like big forster to stay to and get rid of zaluska but one thing puzzles me is why no one has made a move to sign Gordon since he could have signed a pre-contract with anyone since January

I would take Gordon in a * heartbeat, yes he's had some injury problems but i also feel most of these could have been avoided if he wasnt rushed back into 1st team football so fast especially shoulder injury's.

I think he's twice the keeper Forster is and we'll save ourselves 2-3 million that can be invested elsewhere in a squad that needs a fair bit more quality in certain places.

I'd take Craig Gordon in a second. Far better keeper than Fraser Forster imo and that's no slight on Forster because I think he's good too.

If fraser forster keeps delaying, punt him out the door! He doesnt want to be here imo. Get this guy in. EAsily the best keeper since boruc! Everyone hits a we injury patch, he's over it! Take a chance and we've got a top class keeper who i wont need to worry about when one of these champions league teams get the ball in our half lol. BUY BUY BUY! Then get owen in! May need to expand the phisios room.. lol

I'm sure Forster wants to stay, he has nothing but good words to stay about Celtic i think it's just his agent complecating proceedings. I think we'll keep him, i'ld love him to stay personally.

I am not 100% sure that this would be the best option with his injury problems, but if Lenny brings him in he will have my full support.

His wasnt just a wee injury patch though. He was out for nearly 2 years. If we do decide to offer him a contract and he signs I hope your right in saying that he is over his injuries. We'd be taking quite a large risk with this one IMO, but there is no doubting that he is a quality GK who has a point to prove.

Unsure why people think he will be keen to come here , Says he would like to remain in the prem or even go abroad .

He will have a lot of options.
