i think the fact that lenny went public with this is a good sign he has spoken to him direct and will know how he feels about a move to us . bellamy knows what playing for celtic is all about having played for us in the past. yes fulham are in the epl but they arent gona win anything, we can offer him the chance to finish his career on a high win some trophies, play infront of 60,000 fans and play for glasgow celtic. he has had a good career and earned alot of money so this deal wont be depended on wages . the only thing fulham have going for them is they play in the epl and for me thats the only question bellamy has to ask himself does he want to leave the epl. i hope we get him not only because he is a quality player but because he is a arrogant little guy who will shout at people and give them a kick up the * when things arent going well. if i was lenny id offer him the captains armband if he was to sign for us. i think he would be a better captain than anyone else at the club. reading between the lines about what lenny said yesterday i think man city doesnt want him to go to anyone else in the epl so that could make us favourites or am i getting carried away.

I disagree with that mate. I think there are a few things Fulham have on us. Obviously Fulham is a prem club and can offer him more money and a better standard of football. But other things I think will affect his decisions are 1. Mark Hughes has been a big part of his carreer and I reckon he would like to play for him again. 2. As someone said he wants to be close to his family in Wales and London is a lot closer to them than Glasgow.3 knowing Bellamys character i think he will want to prove a point he can still play at the top and give the two fingers to Citeh.

hope he comes to us but with Hughes involven now I cant see it. hope I am wrong.

 

Nah I agree with you, I think we are still favourites coz of Lennon going public! Also, Bellamy said a while back that he didn't think he would go to another EPL team if he left Man City! I was listening to his interview after the Wales game the other night and he basically made out that him being happy is the most important thing with his nxt move and well we all know thT the happiest times of his career was when he was up here!

 

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see Lenny might say something at his press conference today anyone know when it is ?

 

Doesn't look as if our interest is being taken too seriously, according to SSN his preferred move is Spurs but Mark Hughes has also stated an interest.

Right from the beginning I haven't been too hopeful on this one.

 

That's because they can't even think that a player like Bellamy would want to leave the promised land to go to the spl.I mean they spent the whole of yesterday going on and on about Beckhams international future you think they would realise he's past it.

if Mark Hughes wasnt involved Id say he would defo choose us over Fulham. But I think Hughes will be the the man to get him

 

We would destroy every team in the spl if we got bellamy back , really excited about this and if we're talking to his representatives already theres a good chance we'll get him.

 

Hughes hinted when discussing the opportunity to get Bellamy that he didn't think Fulham had the financial strength to buy him. Not sure how much of a role that will take, but from his quotes it seemed he was reiterating that of course he was interested, but not too confident on signing him.

 

Do you really think Bellamy wants to go from CL contenders to mid table team who struggle to get into europe I know Hughes is their manager but Fulham as a club is mediocre at best.I can understand Bellamy going to Cardiff as it's his home town club but I think he may prefer one last shot at a big club like ours that can give him a huge chance of winning silverware and a shot at european football.

 

Fulham now 1/2 to sign bellamy which is not bad for me i bet him at 7/1 after watching that interview . Id still love to be wrong as he might come here but looking good financially rather than for my club

 

im sorry but they got to a european final last season, we did that in 2003 and we dont look like repeating that run anytime soon.

 

Not sure what he would be thinking to be fair mate. I reckon Fulham might not be able to afford him as i would think they will have to buy him and probs have to break their wage structure, as we might only have to loan him and pay part of his wages.

They had Hodgson as their manager then I doubt Fulham will be near a european final anytime soon and yeah we did that in 03 but we also made it into the last 16 of the cl twice after Seville Fulham have no chance of playing in the cl.

 

i agree m8,mark hughes was talking like hes made his mind up ie hughes kept his head low and wished him well,personaly i think Spurswill get him unless the pull of every and i mean every celtic supporter shouting bellars Every 2nd week and games against the huns and the pull of europe,yes i know its Europa league but its europe unlike fulham but spurs could yet get into champions league group stage and that would mean No bellaRS AT CP,i'm sure bellars and co would get us to the last 32 or 16 in the europa easy if bellars joined us please bellamy SIGN!!
