She’s been pulled from media briefings from now on and face taken off advertising campaign.

Folk can simmer down to a riot now hopefully.

The point I was trying to make yesterday is similar to the one you made today.
These are tough times for everybody and it looks like they are going to get tougher. Hanging folk out to dry for making mistakes relating to these new rules is utterly pointless and a bit unedifying in my opinion.
Too many self righteous folk around at the moment wanting to lecture others on their behaviour when we should be helping each other out.
Catherine Calderwood knew exactly what she was doing though and did it 2 weekends in a row by all accounts. That’s a poor show for someone in her position.

Ps- it's worse than that actually. It's selfish beyond belief!!

The thing is she can continue to advise the Government behind the scenes, Sturgeon should've removed her from all Media duties straight away.

No it’s not, you were intimating that driving to a park to walk your dog shouldn’t be a reason for the media to hound you on one hand, on the other you’re now saying Calderwood should be hounded for driving to her 2nd home.

It’s either one or the other. For the record anyone that does anything other than go for daily exercise staying out of everyone’s road, go for groceries or go to work if a key worker is a bawbag.

And remove her only chance to apologise in person to the public?

Nah, he was much, much worse because he actually had the * virus and brought it with him to another country.

He should be sacked and have all public funding removed.

The only reason she apologised is because she caught. Why did she not apologise after the first trip ?

    You do love an argument.
It’s either one or the other and anyone breaking the rules is a bawbag (except Catherine Calderwood who shouldn’t be abused).

In this case a public apology is worthless, it's done all parties more harm than good, she should never have been wheeled out in the first place, Sturgeon could've read out a statement from her saying that she has stood down from her position but will continue to advise in another capacity outwith the Media campaign.

I agree with you that there has been an overreaction, but nevertheless she couldn't continue in her current position.

You do love turning something personal when it isn’t going the way you want it to.

She is receiving a level of abuse from clowns with ulterior motives on Twitter that should only be received by proper criminals. That doesn’t mean I condone what she’s done.

It definitely isn’t worthless, without an apology there’s no scope for her to be forgiven for her actions. Same for anyone.

I think they’ve handled it well and tbh were we not about to be skelped with the peak in the next 2 weeks would have had no argument with her being sacked.

Aye, and I don't recall the media making as big a deal out of that as they are with this.

It’s wrong, but part is possibly because he hasn’t been preaching the stay at home policy numerous times a day. it’s her duty to stand by what she as a government spokesperson is preaching.
this could cost NS her job if its allowed to fester on.

I said a public apology is worthless, the press conference was a total disaster, and Sturgeon herself came across as showing poor judgement in trying to justify why she should continue in her position, a position that to everyone else is/was untenable.

This doesen't reflect well on the first minister, normally she is a very good speaker and decisive in her actions.

Was it not you that said people not following the rules should be hung from a lamp post?
