The guy is 23, it may just be that he is coming on to his game just now.

Unless we are going to be selling sammy or murphy i dont see the point of bringing in sammon we have too big a squad as it is and need to be trimming the squad not adding sammon for 600k plus wages and him not even making the bench imo.

aye but if we did go for him you can beat that Hun of a chairman would hold us to ransom

Sammon's a decent SPL striker, though he would be nothing more than back up at Celtic but could be worth a punt unless we can get someone better in

i'd rather we get Wilson in tbh

STV saying that Celtic have not made any sort of approach for Sammon.

Having really been following but noticed SSN were saying Celtic have asked Kilmarnock to keep them informed on any news of Sammon.. Like maybe we are coming in with a late bid or at the least giving that impression to the player who will likely knock back any other moves.. Not sure how long he has left on his contract but I'd definately take him on a free transfer and see how he handles things playing for a massive club..

    This confuses me now :56:

The joy of the transfer window. Listen I know the guys got a better scoring record than Murphy but we should bring in a top quality striker who we could afford. Sammon just isn't the top quality striker because he's having 1 good season. We have had plenty of players who were going through a purple batch then done absolute pish coming to us, Killen, Riordan etc. But you never know as he could up his game once he comes to us the way McDonald did. If we do sign the guy we shouldn't criticise him we should get behind him as a player. Give him confidence because thats a main factor in football.

The best option would be to try and get him on a pre contract, then release murphy as he is a better striker already, younger and probably on half of the wages murphy is on!

This has Chris Killen written all over it.

He'll come to Celtic and look like a fish out of water.

SSN says they have asked to be kept informed in Sammon situation.

What does that mean exactly? They asked Kilmarnock to tell them if they have accepted a bid from anybody? Surely that cant be right?

Something very fishy going on, A dont think he,s no were near good enough, looks like a big clumbsy idiot with a bit of pace, but a couple of sweet strikes isnt good enough for you to pull on the hoops

I think he's a comparable player to Boyd during his time at Kilmarnock.

I've no doubt we are letting him know of our interest and now that he's aware of it there's absolutely no chance of him going anywhere else IMO..
I think he's out of contract in the summer and he'll know we can get him for nothing then..
Kilmarnock aren't going to be able to force him out even if they get £1m from elsewhere.. I think we might offer a small fee late in the day but I don't think it will be accepted and we'll not get a striker this window..

Why Kilmarnock haven't accepted the £425k offer from Derby for him , I don't know..
The previous report was that he was wanted by Scunthorpe for £600k but it was Sammon who knocked that deal back..

1 good season dont warrant wearin the hoops imo and surely we should look higher than him as mediocre at best imo

He's a target man! Some are a bib unfair on him IMO.

It's down to him to prove us wrong I guess. IMHO he'd be a handy addition and is just what we need... A big strong pacu striker to hold up play or when we have to deploy the long ball...

Doubt he'll be a mainstay in the side but handy nonetheless.
