Complaint to the BBC

I dont really care much about this because anyone who is thinking about politics and history in another country 100 years ago in a cup final is not a fan of football and is basically someone using the club as a vehicle for their politics and opinions on history.

 

No offence mate but I really don't know how you come to that conclusion. The songs are not illegal in any way, what happened to freedom? Celtic fans like you should know better than to give these people credibility.

No one is denying that the one off IRA chant at Tynecastle after Lenny was attacked shouldn't be repeated but again it's got nothing to do with bigotry in reality. Think for yourself and do a bit of research and you won't be so quick to believe the bias Scottish media.

I think people confuse sectarian and bigotry. Sectarian does cover hatred and division through political division within one population. Here is the definition of sectarian:

'bigotry, discrimination or hatred arising from attaching importance to perceived differences between subdivisions within a group, such as between different denominations of a religion or factions of a political movement'

 

You don't care that our fans were ridiculed for no reason and wrongly accused of sectarianism? When those on the dark side have really been indulging in sectarian songs for the entire season and nothing has been said??!?!

 

That is not the right attitude when your club's good name is being brought into disrepute.

I do not sing the rebel songs, I dont mind them being sung, though the pira chant I would rather see the back of. However I know where this club, and most of its support came from and so I back their right to sing the songs. The songs are not sectarian. What happened to day was a clear case of bias and one-up-man-ship and I will not stand for it.

I am proud of this club and its support and what happened today was an underhand attack. If you do not care, then you are letting your club's name be sullied.

Also you will sing Flower of Scotland loud and proud and international games.. that imo is double standards.

I know my history.. do you ?

 

Ok mate to a certain degree I agree. But if you don't care why comment? I think OUR club is an expression of the past.

 

Exactly Rachael, this is not a matter of if you agree or disagree with political songs or whether they are sung, it is a reponse to a factually inaccurate slanderous attack that brings down the good name of the club and support, something every supporter can be united against. Facts don't lie.

 

I don't really think they were thinking about polotics and history Gunt, I think they were probably just singing the songs in support of their team.

Really beggars belief if thats the case.

Suppose they cant criticise the orcs after they were awarded the Family Friendly Club of the year.

Don't know if its been said but you're probably better complaining complaining to ofcom rather than the BBC themselves. If its seen as a genuine complaint I'm sure they'll look into it.
