How cute was that wee lassie from the Shetlands getting her medal for the swimming?

Totally magic smile and the highlight of the games for me so far.:icon_mrgreen:

I think the thing I've enjoyed most about these games is the way the para sport has been integrated into the games. I think in the case of the Olympics the Paralympians maybe don't get as much recognition, and I don't think that's very fair. I think it's nice that the attention is focused on them alongside the famous household names.

Id be lying if i said i had any remote interest in the paralympics.......but i agree that would be a better way for them to go.
As it stands, they are an add-on that gives the impression that it is for the "handicapped" and it is kind of sad that the world goes home and leaves them to their own "wee games" after the show!

Maybe they should be given equal status and allowed to be a part of the actual games.

Good to see the wee Flynn go through but I dunno what they are thinking about dropping the head protection for the boxing in the amateurs!

The one thing about watching the kids in the amateurs is knowing with the headgear they aint going to get cut to * and the puches are absorbed a wee bit.

Another moan, but the boxing is more like mini - pros now instead of the * art.

It was found the amateurs were statistically less likely to get a serious brain injury if they weren't wearing head guards. Bit counter-intuitive I know.

I've loved the games. Been to rugby, athletics and mountain biking. More athletics on Thursday. Town is buzzing, and the stuff on at Glasgow Green is great. Glasgow is looking brilliant on the telly.

They should just leave Hampden as an athletics stadium. 100x better than seeing football there.

I agree about hampden, saved a ton of dosh aswel!

The games have been mint, my highlights were the rugby 7's I hate rugby aswel lol but this condensed version was * gripping and exciting, plus the crowd had been great throughout. I've also been loving the athletics and that sport with the girls and balls/hoops, that was an eye opener..

He tweeted that it was bullshit.. I'd like to see the source material for which the comment was made, but get the feeling the papers made up their own * to be honest.

Ever since these * games have started the press have consistently tried to downplay them over yhe Olympics and London! Bit of a joke really as these games are clearly a more intimate affair and Glasgow/Scotland have realy done themselves proud with regard to keeping in touch with that "warmth"

It is fairly evident that the English do not like the fact these games have been a complete success thus far. On budget, no crisis' and everyone getting on.

Shove the London Olympics up your * you shower of patronising arseholes :50:
