    I like the charity element of this thing, but you don't have to walk 10 minutes from Celtic Park to find people in poverty that could use the help just as much. I would hope that Scottish charities will benefit as well from this.

    The exposure given to charity is fantastic and should be done and built upon with each successive commonwealth games. Hopefully this raises a reasonable amount of cash and gives us something to be proud of genuinely rather than all the Tartan and wee dugs.

    That's something we could deal with right now if we chose too or were in the position to do so (I know arguably we are now), We do have free school meals, Education and healthcare. The next step aught to be eradicating poverty from this country But that's the long term goal.
