I was thinking that we (the fans) put so much into the club and the club give us nothing back.Prehaps when you get a season ticket you get a free home top or at least a scarve like some clubs give ,id like the club to show some apreciation

For goodness sake. We play in a league with no money. Our TV deal has collapsed. And now you want a free strip with your season ticket? Get a grip. If the club starts dishing out free tops to all and sundry we'll have no money at all! And then you'll probably be on here moaning about how we aren't spending enough money on players. The club has given you plenty of trophies in the last few years.....is that not enough for you? If it isn't then why isn't it?

Hey why not would cost that much atleast a scarve anyway it would make good buisness for the club to look after their "customers"

Why can't you just pay a fiver for a Celtic scarf like everyone else??

Hardly a bank breaker is it??

If fans aren't renewing their season tickets then I hardly think offering them a free scarf is going to make them change their mind is it??

Agree some fans think this - a free scarf won't change their mind.

A free top is out of the question as the sale of tops is an important income generator for the club.

I wish you (fans) would take time online and read the celtic financial reprots they release for EVERYONE to see and then get your dad to explain it all to you.
Then maybe just maybe you will under stand just how tough it is for clubs in scotland to just survive each year.
The thread should have its name changed to.....FANS TAKE CELTIC FOR GRANTED.:31:

    good post

we are in a situation where we are pretty comfortable financially but only because of the money we are bringing in from ticket revenue/shirt sales etc. we are no where close to being in a position where we could afford to hand out around 50,000 strips or scarfs. even at a fiver a pop thats 250,000

So a football team playing in Europe isnt good enough, you want a scarf...

Now would you like Celtic to spend ~€500,000 on scarfs for the fans or spend it on something more worthwhile?

Maybe you should appreciate the increase in concessions and the price freeze?

As williebad says, why dont all the fans that think the club is taking them for a ride actually read the financial reports and get it through their thick heads the reality of the situation.

End of the day, nobody is forcing you to spend your money on Celtic either and stop expecting the club to bend over backwards for you as if they are a social welfare scheme

The most important thing the club can do for me is put a winning team that plays good football on the park.

I'll happily pay for my own strip & scarf.

To be honest season tickets for 13-16 year olds are only £100!
and season tickets for 17-19 year olds are £150!
obviously much dearer for anyone older.

when you are 16 it doesnt get much better than getting 19 games ( doesnt include the hun games ), for £5.20 match!!

when i see celtic go out onto the feild and give it there all, win lose or draw, its enough for me.:icon_mrgreen:

a free scarve?:97: * off man get a grip lol! celtic must find ways to improve their finances by doing different things! there is sweet * all money in the scottish game! so like dempsey said why waste 500,000 or so on dishing out free scarves to us fans when that money really needs to be spent on better thing concerning celtic fc! as long as celtic have a good football team playing good attacking ,winning football then thats all that matters to me!

good point poorley made tho we are just a conastant source of income for the plc wish DD would put the same percentage of yearly income into the club as u and me. a mean so far this season we've had 2 new strips £90 1 of which the players will prob never wear 2 champions league qualifiers £55 remeber the good ol days when u got the 1st euro game on the book a season ticket at £500 and a europa package at £84 thats £730 and we r only 3 games into the season dunno how the bhoys n ghirls who go to all the away games can afford it.

I realise that most of the ticket costs i've quoted are an initall outlay that will keep u going till christmas in europe and may in the spl but i must be giving celtic nearly 2k per year around 8% of my salary if dd gave us 8% of his take home pay we'd be a lot better off

We are jsut a business though. I know the frustration but i go to games I can afford. I pay £525 for my season ticket then the european games and even then am pushin it. But for Celtic to attempt to compete they need a return anyway tthey can get it. End of the day if you don't want to pay these prices anymore then don't. Obviously u pay alot mor than me but I watch what i can and enjoy it. at times i feel a bit robbed coz every season ticket renewal Im promised more and get less in a way.
Now for DD to give us 8% thats jsut mad. The guy is a billionare and would ruin him.lol

My missus supports Chelski and had never been, so i took her to Chelsea v Bordeaux last season. There was a free scarf on every home supporters seat. But then , Mr Abramovich can afford that ! Never seen so many people in a ground with suits and ties on. Took her to the Hoops v Arsenal , she could not believe the difference in atmosphere ! My point is : we are the best fans in the world, we have a well run club, we are successful, we look like we have a good manager who has us playing good football. We don't need freebies like scarves ! Hail Hail !
