They were both at it during the Inter game, suggesting we have a divine right to beat a team that was vastly more valuable than ours.

After the Astra game he went on a stupid rant suggesting Deila had lost all credibility and his judgement had to be brought into question because he stated we were a team in progression. He also said it was the most angry he has ever been either watching or being involved with Celtic, a game which we ultimately won :52: This is the same guy that was on the pitch for several worse results and was directly responsible for them.

Deila has since been proven right, Sutton has since been proven to be a reactionary idiot.

This. I found it quite ironic when earlier in the thread some people that have been accused of being unfair towards Sutton were accused of being unable to "separate the player from the hack".

Sutton was a fantastic player for us and I was a huge fan of him on the pitch but tbh I never really warmed to Sutton when I saw him speak either. Then again I can't say I really cared during his playing career as long as he performed on the pitch.

I agreed with him that Astra game, that was at half time, I can remember that. I suspect Deila would have as well to be honest, we were * awful.

I didn't think it was Sutton acting like we had a divine right too, I was getting the impression from him that it wasn't beyond us and he was right, if we want to progress we shouldn't be drawing that game against Inter. We can't keep conceding that many goals in Europe.

Hopefully we keep progressing and that's cut out next season though.

I think the only person struggling to separate the player from the hack is yourself. You are blinkered because of how you have viewed them as players, and it's clouding your judgement of them as pundits in my opinion. Sutton and Burley were both good players for us, but have been arseholes when they have been pundits I feel. I have separated both.

He didn't say we were * awful though which would have been factual, he said that was the angriest he has ever been either watching or performing for Celtic.

Which is a complete and utter bullshit statement from a guy involved in many worse performances than one we went onto win 2-1.

Sorry guys, I like big Sutton. Spent about 10-15 minutes chatting to him before his book launch in Belfast. A really mild mannered man and had loads of time to talk to my son about his football etc. I know he's been out of order with some things he said. But for things like hating and bullying the Huns. That goal against Juve. Will always be a club great and I will respect him for that!:50:

Thought it might be best to put this here.

BT Sport advertising for Celtic's match against St Mirren saying there is a Chris Sutton interview of Ronny Deila being shown pre-match.

    Make him squirm Ronny!

I reckon it will be consistent of Sutton sooking up Deila's * - with Deila giving Sutty "the eye!"!

Sutton will walk and Ronny will just stare at him, just like in the pic, then when Sutton opens his mouth he'll give him a few Ronny Roars to the jaw.

A proper * licking fest this will be.
Sutton will probably open it with a couple of facts to save face before being all over Ronny, whilst Ronny isn't flustered and ends with a slight chuckle and wink..

Good for him. He gets paid to say what he thinks and the evolution in his opinion of Ronny is similar to much of the support. I think he's been wrong on a few occasions but being wrong is not a crime

    Expected nothing less from Sutton.

Perhaps he should have had a bit of empathy for Deila knowing fine well the magnitude of the job he had on his hands rather than absolutely slaughter him at every given opportunity, and also as he knows the pressures of management given the fact that he himself was a failure at Lincoln.

I wonder if Chris told him if he wins the treble it will be pretty worthless.

Or if he asked him if John Collins did ever pull him aside and told him to stop talking tripe.

Or if he was in danger of losing the dressing room.

Or how he's obsessed about dieting.

Or that his team were a "bunch of no hopers."

Or the his "gut feeling" Ronny wasn't the man for the job (despite knowing absolutely * all about him.)

Once again, * Chris Sutton (the pundit.)

Aye, there seems to be a lot of backtracking from Sutton. It was not so long ago he was trying to diminish what winning the treble would mean, yet now he is talking it up. Sutton also played in the best team in the country for more than O'Neill's first season, yet only managed to win the 1 treble. The fact is, it's a hard thing to do, because cup games can throw up shocks. If the favourites won every game, football would be boring.

Most of us on here have done it. Let's be honest a lot of people where wrong about Deila at the start (Including myself) but most people will hold there hand up and say they got it wrong, something you'll never see from Sutton
