Are you referring to me? Sure i was on his case up until January that's because i thought our team could be doing better. Delia has said himself that he made mistakes and that it wasnt good enough. Lately I am delighted with how things are going. I often said nobody wants Delia to do well more than me because i like to see Celtic do well and i am not anti Delia I am anti failure. I had to repeat those lines on a near daily basis. As for Sutton some of the bile that has been directed toward him has been out of order.

Yeah well there was definitely a fall out between WGS and Sutton but i mind reading his book and him saying that Celtic reneged on a contract extension that was in his contract and insisted he play for less money if he accepted the extension. Basically he had a contract with an option in it and we weaselled out of it by offering him less than what he was contractually obliged to get if he stayed on.

"Weaselling out" - yeah, giving Sutton a contract extension on equal/greater money when we were downsizing from our hugley over-inflated budget sounds like smart business

Exactly we got the best years out of him and got rid at the correct time, all you have to do is look at his post Celtic career.

Legend as a player Desperate * as a pundit.

Ah yes... stats tell the whole story... always!

End of debate - you win!

My eyes must be broken then, because they see a defence with serious shortcomings! Or maybe the huge levels of possession we have further up the pitch, the mediocre standard of our domestic competition, and Craig Gordon in generally excellent form, have resulted in the stats you quote!?

Everything Chris Sutton has done as a player for us has been overshadowed by his complete * he's spouted about the club, for me.

    * him, and this will be the last time I give him the time of day.

Thank * he didn't sign on.

He served us well but had to go at the time, along with 40k a week Balde.

Balde was offered a contract and signed it, he was happy here and was within his rights to see it out. It is not his fault someone gave him a deal and he signed it. I do remember we were trying to shoe him out the door at any opportunity. He was stuck in the middle of a row with the suits. Also the figure was was widely quoted at the time was 30k if i remember right. I think we only had two players to get paid more than this in our history. * 40k, Tallaght * 65k

So I've been avoiding a lot of what Sutton has said and only picked up what folk on here have brought up but recently I found a Daily Rag on the train so I decided to see what bullshit it was propagating.

I stumbled upon Sutton's column and wanted to see if he really is talking out of the * and after only a few paragraphs in, he stated how Van Dijk and Denayer struggled to play well against Inter or some *. I immediately closed the paper and threw it away. What a load of garbage. I was at the game sat up above the GB in the Upper Tier and saw quite clearly that our two CB's played brilliantly. They looked cool and composed and looked like star quality.

Sutton, I may love you for all you did in a Celtic shirt but go * yourself.

They done ok for the most part but Denayer was ropey especially at the start and VVD was pulled out of position at times. I would hardly call us solid. We have some defensive problems due to how we play the 4231. Bitton and Brown are pushed very far forward because our defensive line is so high, combine this with both our fullbacks pushing on it leaves our central defenders exposed. They often have to cover for the full backs and gaps are created.

In similar games in the future i think it would be wise to push our defensive line back a tad, the bank of 2 could drop into a more natural starting point and we could use our full backs in a more conservative way. We are exposed in some circumstances and very vulnerable to counter attacks. At the minute our central defenders are being stretched and we can offer them more protection.

    30k or 37k that is still too * much.:56:

I was watching the Road to Seville on youtube today and Balde really could be a bombscare at times.

Between 2006 and 2009 he played 14 times.

He is getting paid to say things that will go into the papers no doubt.

He's probably in a jam financially.

I loved him as a player but he is just the same as any other pundit honestly when it comes to the papers.

I never paid pundits any real mind because most of them are bellends and have nothing useful or even half truthful to say usually.

So who cares. I'll remember him as a a player. Is all.

We are all guessing, or basing figures on what we have heard, so I will pitch in. It was apparently 18k basic, 23k if he made the bench, and 28k if he played. Which would make sense to be fair, because he was our best centre half at the time, but sat in the stand for the most part.
