Could change this thread to a general "backroom team thread".

This new guy O'Driscoll seems the business. So glad to see Brendan getting his own team together. Would love to see a "Being Celtic" type series, mind you Celtic TV would likely * that up.

Happy days, some serious names and reputations/CVS coming in the door.

Defo can't see any of this being a flash in the pan for these guys, think this is all being sold on the back of making a legacy and being part of 10 in a row.

Assuming Rodgers initially intends on approx 3 years, anyone think he or the backroom staff are going to leave at 8 in a row - 1 away from equalling a record and 2 seasons away from beating a record? This * is long term, and everyone of them and the board seem to finally get this.

Big investment now for the backroom staff, a one year big investment in the playing squad, then return to some 'projects' to make money off of in between times and bank the money for future investments.

This is the chance to make a name for these guys, a big big name

As for the physio chat, rather the hearts one. But why not just hire Eva as head physio and then get kitty and Karen in as her colleagues?

May cause issues with a lot of the guys acting up their injuries mind you...

A physio is a physio who cares if there male or female as long as they do the job well, I'm not sure if Ronny's are still around but you very rarely hear of new managers bringing a physio with them they tend to just stick with the old ones

Chris Davies is ready for Celtic role

Calm and collected is how new Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies described his relationship with Brendan Rodgers, but the former Liverpool coach insists he's not here to simply take a back seat.
The ex-Reading first-team coach has a long-standing working history with the new Celtic boss and he explained today (Friday) that their methodical and open approach to management will keep the Hoops ship sailing on calm waters while also creating an environment where fresh ideas can flourish as a new era gets underway at Paradise.
“I think everything’s calm,” Davies explained. “Brendan creates that environment - you’ll see that in his time here. He is a very calm person and that is why I think he’s able to take on a job like this because one thing I’ve noticed is his temperament is phenomenal.
“Everything is calm; it’s all about the process for us. We know that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We know that we need to win every game.
"We know the expectancy here but all we can do is focus on the process - preparing the team, helping the players, making sure that the training method is right, that the game-plan is right, analysing opposition, reflecting on the game and analysing how we perform, and we can just carry that process through each week.
“Over the last few years that’s been 50 to 60 games a season and that’s what we do. We do it every time and everything is in a processed way. We are all passionate and Brendan is extremely passionate about football and particularly this job.
“We are going to be right on it and I’m sure we’ll be having plenty of debates about team selection and things like that.”
Davies was Brendan Rodgers’ first appointment as Celtic boss and the former Liverpool and Swansea coach joins the champions having fostered a fruitful working relationship with the new Hoops manager over a period of 15 years.
Their time together started at Reading where the new Celtic manager was in charge of the youth team and Davies was his captain, and they have since worked together at a number of other clubs in England.
Davies also honed his skills in sports science academically with a degree from Loughborough University and a period of work in New Zealand alongside former Hoops keeper Jonathan Gould, and he is eager to get to work in his new position at Celtic.
“Straight away you notice the size of Celtic, you know from the outside how big it is,” he said. “Especially at the unveiling here a couple of weeks ago, it was sensational.
“It’s a great honour to be here and to just be up here to experience a bit more of Glasgow. It’s a really good feeling.
“I’ve worked with Brendan for a long time. I initially played for Brendan and then went on to coach with him and work in different capacities.
“I think we, as a staff, bring a lot of experience to the top level of the game. We’ve got a very clear way in how we want to play and we’ll implement that at this club as well.
“Personally I have a really big interest in the tactical side of the game and looking at the strategy of the game is something I really enjoy. Working with players on the field, communicating with players and trying to help them improve as a team and as individuals is where my strength lies.”

Just caught his interview on Celtic TV speaks well.

    http://www.celticfc.tv/freeview?video=3952

NEW assistant manager Chris Davies believes the high standing of Brendan Rodgers and Celtic can attract top-class talent to Paradise.
The 31-year-old has worked has closely with the Hoops boss over a number of years, joining him at both Swansea and Liverpool, and the pair will now team up again with the aim of bringing further success at home and abroad to the Scottish champions.
And speaking at his first media conference as part of the Celtic management team, Davies revealed the type of player they would be looking to recruit.
He said: “We can attract quality, big quality, no doubt about it. Brendan, in my opinion, is one of the best managers in the game and here he is coming to one of the biggest and best clubs in the game, so it's logical to think we can get some really good players here as well.
“It’s hard to articulate exactly what level of quality but we need players that can make a difference and that’s what we are looking to attract.
“Like I said, it’s about the quality and how they can fit into the team. The first thing is they have got to be the right character, they’ve got to show the responsibility of playing for this massive club and they’ve got to have quality. Whether they’re a big name or not is another thing. We will attract players that we feel are a high calibre.”
Davies and Brendan Rodgers have only been in the job a matter of days but they have already completed a comprehensive analysis of how the team performed last season.
And the Hoops No.2 insisted they would have a flexible tactical approach to how Celtic will play in the coming years, with the emphasis on style.
“We have looked at areas of the team, both attacking and defensively, areas that we feel we can potentially improve or that are really strong,” he explained.
“It’s more in a football context and more on the tactical side of the game from what we’ve seen objectively without emotion of how it’s been. That will help inform us moving forward.
“Brendan’s time at Liverpool, when we nearly won the league in a great season, we played lots of different systems of play.
“The most important thing is not the system, it’s the style and the way of playing. It’s where the players are positioned and the areas on the field where they arrive in that is important.
“Whether we play with one or two up front, the most important thing is assessing what wins games and what suits the players. We will look at that and see how that goes.”
And Davies admitted he was delighted that he and Brendan Rodgers would be able to call upon the attacking threat of Leigh Griffiths, who bagged 40 goals for the club last season.
“I’ve seen the goals and there are some brilliant goals there,” he said. “In around the box, one or two-touch, just clinical finishes.Obviously he was really high in confidence and that’s what we want to create: a team that’s creative and confident in attack.
“To watch Leigh Griffiths' goals last year, that epitomises it really. It was fantastic to see the type of goals he scored. We are really lucky to be inheriting him and we are looking forward to seeing him close up and working with him as well.”

He's just in the door and already he's talked more sense than Deila did in two seasons. Reckon it's gonna be one of the best transfer windows we've had in a long time.

And assistant manager Chris Davies refused to rule out a bout of weekend shopping amid concerns over the club’s defensive options in Astana.

‘It is being worked on and we have the wildcard option which is a buffer for us as well,’ said Davies. ‘It is only natural to know that option is there if there is business to be done. We are aware of it.

‘We know the areas we need to improve on and we have identified targets. It would be a big boost for us if we can get people in who are going to make the difference.

‘But the most important thing is that it’s the right player, rather than rushing in and doing something hasty that maybe isn’t right.’

Rodgers has spent £400,000 on former Fulham striker Moussa Dembele, with supporters frustrated by the lack of further additions.

Sportsmail understands the Parkhead club are now prepared to sell Efe Ambrose after turning down past bids from Olympiakos and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Ambrose was axed from the squad which overcame Lincoln Red Imps after his first-leg blunder and Davies admitted: ‘It’s a situation where if we can get deals done, then obviously the squad gets that little bit bigger and there is more opportunity for players to move on. But all I can say about Efe is that since we’ve come in here he’s been great to work with every day, his personality and his attitude to training, and he’s given everything he can, every session and every day.

‘He did it again today. He’s been a pleasure to work with on a day-to-day basis but we’re obviously assessing the whole squad and assessing what we need to bring in to improve and take the team forward and there might be opportunity for players to move on.’

While admitting the team needs an injection of fresh blood as they strive for a first Champions League qualification in three years, Davies insisted the emphasis is on quality rather than quantity.

We have been pretty consistent in the areas we want to strengthen since day one in here and on targets we want,’ he said.

‘We have a reasonable size squad, so we need to bring in quality that improves the team. Of course it would be a big boost for us going into that really important game in Astana

So this management team clearly gets it. I, like most supporters am frustrated at the lack of signings so far, and I do agree that we need to shore up big time if we want to get by Astana and beyond, but I also think that the club has assured Rodgers and co. of their backing and that some signings just simply take time. We have no idea of what negotiations have taken place with Sinclair, Duffy, Toure and how far along they may/may not be. We have no idea if Lawwell or the board had anything to do with the failure to complete deals. We've been frustrated in the past and many are right now, but in this case I think the club as a whole needs to be given the benefit of the doubt. We will get quality players in this window, BR will make sure of that. He's assured the support that he's been given the full support of the club, just need a bit more time and patience IMO.
