Going from Rodgers comments in the press conference,it looks like he won't be going for anyone outwith whom he hasn't worked with before. I dont agree with the suggestion that he needs someone "who knows Scottish Football" and Rodgers dismissed that idea himself.

I reckon we can dismiss the likes of Clarke, John Hughes, Lenny, Ma baw McAllister and Gerrard being the No 2.

The Champions League was mentioned constantly throughout the day. So it's important that the coaches and other staff are in and settled as soon as possible. Looking beyond
Rodgers comments we won't have to wait long for an announcement on the backroom staff.

To be fair, he has worked with McAllister before, they are familiar.

Was McAllister not one of the Henry picks??

Sure he's some sort of Club Ambassador abroad.

Rodgers said hes got a few people in mind and they'll be here soon. I expect its people hes worked with before and that's vital, what's most important in an assistant manager is their relationship with the manager.
Expect over time a few more ex players will slowly join, but for now let's just bring in Rodgers mates

I agree. I can't imagine Lennon wanting to come here as an assistant, after being a successful manager for us not that long ago. Going by the press conference yesterday, I think it's pretty clear it will be someone Rodgers has already worked with.

I hope he brings in his own guys. It might be awkward at first if we have to dismiss some people that have been here for a while but that's just the way football goes.

Lennon, not necessarily by fault of his own, attracts too much off field baggage so a no for him. Whoever it is, I'm not too bothered, it's a name we prob won't have heard of but as long as the manager works with him its fine.

Get Hugh Keevins in as his No2 ..the man who knows everything about everything under the sun, not just football

Brendan is still a young manager and has a lot to learn.. I'm sure Mr Keevins has a wealth of experience to pass on

I read that Rodgers brought him in himself.

    Could be wrong, mind.

Looks like a coach rather than number 2, but it's something.:50:

Seen Neil Lennon arriving at Glasgow Airport at about 3 this afternoon. Could be totally unrelated of course.

Monk's a manager, don't think he'd be the right fit for a no. 2. A bit like how I feel with John Hughes only on a lesser scale. I think their both good manager but as assistants I doubt they'd fit.
