On one hand I agree. After being manager and taking us to CL last 16 all he got offered was Bolton. So what's likely to be offered after a spell as number 2.

But on the other hand he probably now realises he was far too inexperienced first time round and working with BR for a couple of seasons would do him the world of good. Then when BR moves on he could step up

Good shout as well, imo. Only thing is I don't think he'd leave Falkirk for a number two job.
Also, Clarke's got better experience, if we could get him in.

Chris Davies of Reading will be in the mix somewhere. Worked with Rodgers at Swansea and is a very highly regarded coach down South. Much like Rodgers his playing career ended young and he turned to coaching.

I 100% did not want Steve Clarke as our manager but I would not be opposed to him being Rodgers assistant. He has a very good reputation as a #2.

This. Clarke would be an outstanding choice no doubting that. Excellent reputation as an assistant.

This is a new beginning for Celtic , forget Larsson, Lennon, etc. Lennon was ok
Larsson, no experience for top club, we cant take a chance and bring someone in to learn the job , we gave R.D. the job the result was disaster in ch/ league, won p/ league
because Aberdeen failed to take the opportunities we gave them, Rodgers will pick
his number two THATS A FACT . Hail. Hail.

First & foremost, it needs to be someone he has the utmost faith & trust in. I seriously doubt he would even consider most of the names mentioned here. As for Lennon coming back as his no. 2, there's no chance in * of that. You don't go from being the manager at Celtic to a no. 2. I'm sure Neil would agree.

I think whoever we appoint as No.2 will be Rodgers replacement learn under him for 2-3 years then step up

He was asked if getting someone who knows Scottish Football in was important and he said we already have John here so he doesn't need anyone

Don't know if anything was in it, he just laughed it off and said that was quick. Said Gerrard is enjoying his time in LA, although he's homesick..

Personally, I wouldn't want Lennon. I think (with the exception of 2/3 great European results) that he did a pretty average job as manager. I also think he had a higher opinion of himself than many others - which is why he could only get a job at Bolton. I honestly don't know why so many people here are waving a banner for Lennon - if he was that highly rated in the game, he would have a few job offers to choose from.

Brendan needs to bring in people he knows and/or has worked with before.

From what I've read, Chris Davies sounds good. I think if Gerrard comes back from the USA, he'll go to Liverpool. However, if Brendan did get him as player/coach/assistant, I wouldn't have a problem - this guy has played at the highest level for 12 years for some great managers.

I'm glad Stevie Woods is staying. I think Brendan is being sensible with JK, he does need someone who knows the SPL but I think Kennedy's actual coaching is more likely to be with the development/youths which is where he should be. He was promoted too quickly by Deila and needs to get more experience while learning from Brendan.

The one thing that is vital is that it is Brendan's choice - however, I have no concerns about that as there is absolutely no way he would have allowed PL to foist anyone on him. I think people are too quick to criticize PL for forcing Deila to take Collins. If Deila didn't want him but was prepared to buckle under the pressure - that's on him.

I just can't see how it would work with Neil Lennon as the number 2, especially so soon after being the manager.

I wouldn't want to see him in that role tbh.

Genuinely think it could be Gary McAllister.

Regardless of him supposedly being a Hun.

I don't think that would work out. Can't see it being Steve Clarke either.

Maybe Malky mackay? Would be a way for him to ease back into football.
