Charlie Mulgrew

Always been class at cb in my opinion.

 

I'm happy for Charlie and it's great to see him back playing so well.

However he was up against Murphy for most of the game who Charlie played very well, using all his experience and positional sense after losing out a couple of times in the air early in the match.

If he had been up against Long and his pace from the start it could have been a different story.

Love Charlie but we shouldn't be considering as a first choice pick in any position especially in Europe.

We were however, spoiled with Virgil and Denayer last season and patience is needed with their replacements whoever plays beside Boyata.

 

Guys best position is centre back. Won player of the year there but ended up shifted the next season. Madness.
Keep him at CB

 

Just get him a full pre season training as a centre back with Boyata. I want Charlie in the team. Spent the Van Dijk money on a * striker.

 

Pretty much. He's a great guy to have in the squad for several reasons, and accepting a relatively small sum for him would not make sense.

 

Id be happy if we signed another centre half and had Mulgrew, Boyata and hopefully Mechele or something vying for 2 places.

 

Mulgrew should only be back centre half or back up defensive mid for me.

 

Mulgrew isn't the answer going forward.

 

That's why he should play in defence..

 

Nope, him and Ambrose are both useless in my opinion.

I didn't think he played that well last night, I prefer him in midfield.

Thought he was excellent personally. They must have whipped in at least 30 crosses and pretty much all were dealt with. Brady was giving me nightmares with that left peg..
