Why say he's * in midfield then?

    You're not.

Tippled you are one of the old guard earlier but you are not.

Trying to throw me off the scent, but you're not. :smiley-laughing002:

He just agreed with me that he was good in midfield when played on the left :smiley-laughing002:

He did alright at covering for Izzy when he went forward and occasionally put in decent deliveries from set-pieces. He cannot be relied upon though, not for the way Ronny wants us to move forward which is far more progressive than just going super defensive in the majority of European games he plays in like Lenny. With Lenny we had Wanyama too as well as a solid defence so chucking in Mulgrew were his role wasn't crucial for the setup of the team wasn't much of an issue. Most of the time he was wide left too with guys like Brown, Wanyama and Ledley regularly starting in the more central positions.

Have to laugh now at the accusations of too many posts and "get a life" accusations.

    * have posts coming out of their ears on social media. Far more than anyone on here.

Mulgrew is a fantastic utility player to have in your squad.

As long as he is happy being just that then he should be retained.

Would he settle for that though? To me he comes across as a big time Charlie (no pun). You can tell just by looking at him that he's a conceited *.

    Exactly.

Every good team has one, Großkreutz at Dortmund being an example.

There's players that should be getting punted long before Mulgrew does.

Players go through good and bad patches. Mulgrew is a good player, be that in defence or midfield.
