Never get injured going for tackles? That's rubbish..

Far more likely when pulling out but saying you never get injured in full throttle challenges is mental..

Try telling Kayal that. He went in fully committed, and it ended up ruining his Celtic career.

You won't , well maybe a slide tackle, but a standing tackle especially in football ,it would be rarity.

I was waiting for that response, thing is most players are decent human beings and aren't intent on injuring other players in the tackle, kayal did not go into the tackle with one of those people that time.

Now you're an experienced football player :56:

Just the near 20,000 posts in 2 and a half years. Surprised you have time for a kickabout.

Aye, agree. I've seen plenty players go in fully committed and come off with a sore one. It's a contact sport at the end of the day, so there is always that possibility, whether you go into a tackle full throttle or not.

I can't see what he Brjngs to the team though.

He is too soft in the tackle and a bit weak to be considered totally reliable in terms of defensive ability. Think against top european opposition. Attacking wise he offers NOTHING. From what I can see, he shifts the ball and responsibility to the nearest player. I understand to some that he looks calm and composed on the ball, but I take a more pessimistic outlook where I think he is actually very cumbersome and will get caught out big time by a half decent team I.e. Inter.

Mulgrew has proved he is able to hold his own against good quality european opposition. I think that game against against Germany, Brown and Mulgrew together were superb.

Played enough to know I'm right and near certainty at a higher level still do, won't even start on Gaelic football where there tackle is a lot worse.

Bitton is * because he doesn't run around tackling? No wonder Scottish football has fallen so far. :56:

A boy in my football team tore his ligaments in a standing tackle.

Another one badly damaged his foot, as they both kicked the ball at the same time.

You can definitely injure yourself in a standing tackle.

I don't think Bitton is a shitebag though, just not his style. Again, I think people pick up on it more because he's a giant.

Experienced footballer? Where did I say that?

Who said I play for anyone now? I stopped properly playing about 17 latest..

Talk about going away from the point, I have played enough football to know that you don't.just get injured backing out of tackles..

What does level matter? If 22 are playing for under 10's in school, 50/50 injuries and bad ones can happen..

I like having a player like Bitton in the team. It's nice to have a player that is so calm and composed, a player that can find space with his first touch and make a pass - it's good to have that in between two work horses like Johansen and Brown.

I think, like Ledley in his first few seasons, some don't notice what he brings when he's playing, however if he wasn't there, it'd be easy to spot what he actually does bring to the team (if that makes sense?).
