I wouldn't say ledley is a certain starter. Was dropped for our biggest game of the season, for a half fit Brown and possibly the worst CB we have at the club. (loovens). Having said that, hopefully lenny has realised he should become a guarenteed starter as I rate ledley as high, if not higher than Kayal.

Back on topic, for me Mulgrew should be one of the first names on the teamsheet, but I don't think he will be. Lenny seems to rate loovens and Majstorovic. For what reason I do not know

I feel the truth is somewhere in the middle, he has improved greatly and made an unnatural position his own but a club like Celtic should have 3 or 4 centre backs of a good standard to chose from. If we had 2 natural CBs that weren't * bombscares it would be a more difficult decision.

The reason I have said that Charlie Mulgrew is first name on the teamsheet for me is because Centre Back is without doubt the weakest part of our team. Charlie Mulgrew for me brings a calm presence at the back, a bit of pace, height and most importantly he is an organiser in the defence and vocal.

As an attacking force as well Mulgrew is quite happy to bring the ball out of the defence on his own, which allows our midfield to sit further up the park and squeeze the game out. Allowing players like Ki to get into shooting positions and in positions to make a difference.

He is by far our best at free kicks and is a danger in this aspect as well. Charlie Mulgrew needs to be in the team for me and for the moment I would pair him next to Thomas Rogne, who for me is by far our most commanding defender.

It's a sad day when he is your best centre half, I like Charlie but obviously when he signed he wasn't well renowned for playing there. The defender situation should have been sorted in the summer, another mistake from Lennon:31:

I agree with the OP. He's was brilliant at CB last season, and there's no reason not to play him there this year. I'm curious as to whether Charlie has requested to be played elsewhere. Maybe he thinks his skills are better suited for other positions?

No choice now. Lenny HAS to player Charlie at CB. Anything else is suicide, imo.

I am not insinuating that he is a world class defender.

I think Charlie has done us proud, he has shown more consistency than most in the team and deserves a bit of praise. Not much to ask really.

All too easy to be negative and critical these day but its your opinion I suppose.

"Supporter Ian Donnelly tweeted in response: “some wee ned” Nice to see you’re not judgemental Charlie bhoy!”"

This guy sounds like an absolute fud, tbh.

Don't know what to make of that "some wee ned" comment.

On the one hand it's cheeky as *, and yet on the other we do have some wee neds in our support.

    Statement of fact or arrogance?

EDIT: I thought it was Padmill actually.
