Its not the most existing signing but i think he could do the job , the celtic full backs should be attacking (imo) and he certainly is

not a great first signing to get exicted about to be honest though, but hopefully he has something to prove

Lets not forget how bad Naylor was. Mulgrew has a good delivery an decent height as well. Probobly the best SPL left back and has 4 years experience behind him now and has the rare chance to come back to his team

 

The signing of Charlie and the possible signing of Cha, IMO is a sign that Lennon is going with 3-5-2...signing two attacking wing-backs(not that great at defending) and potentially 8 centre-halves at his disposa

Would that mean that Mcgeady is definetely leaving.

As for Mulgrew on a free and for spl level he is a great signing. Will be good to have some great set-piece delivery that we have lacked since Nakamura and even fox delivered. Still a little unsure about him defensively but as i said for the spl he will do great.

 

By the way Lennon was talking on SSN there it looks like he will be a regular in the team. He was talking about him giving us balance etc.

we always complain we don't have enough of our youth products in the first team.... welll here ya go. Not exactly the traditional route of youth development, but it was still free

We cant compete in Europe with attacking defenders .

We need defenders that can dig in and defend for 90 mins if needs be.

A decent enought signing for spl competion thought, but we want to be competing strongly in europe and Charlie isnt the signing for that.

Charlie never got a chance under Strachan because of a personality clash between the pair, otherwise Charlie I reckon would have nailed down that left back spot four years ago.

Mulgrew won't let attackers fly by him with ease the way Braafheid did.

 

We can't even win our own domestic league, what's your suggestion for making strides in Europe then?

Let's get the solid foundations down for a team that can dominate the SPL, focus on Europe once we've established ourselves as top dogs again domestically.

I'm glad to see Mulgrew back, well in Lennon.

 

Im not going to lie, im not too impressed with this guy, if he is cover I am 100% fine with that but if he is supposed to be our regular left back then I think he could do a lot better. Anyway I hope im wrong and he has my full suuport because I trust in Lenny getting things right
