Agree with Hairytoes, I'll take him as back up to Misun. Lee Wallace is a top player but Hearts would demand £3mil from us.

Is Misun not a left-sided CB

Not too sure about Mulgrew. Great freekicks, good(ish) going forward, not far off * at defending. Na dont want him

If we buy Charlie Mulgrew instead of making a move for Lee Wallace I will be pretty disappointed. Wallace is a far superior player.

    He is both.

But I don't think he is an attacking minded left back. I guess he is more like a Darren O'Dea type of player.

Great at set-pieces but not that great at defending. Wouldtake him on a free but we still have to buy a decent left-back

Then I realised we don't have a left back *.

I think it's a great signing (if it happens), I think Lenny can shape him up defensivley and we have desperately needed a free kick taker of his ability, not to mention he is free and is choosing Celtic over a move to England.

I agree with you mate...I think we're in the minority lol I understand the concerns defensively but like you say he can improve in that department, he's also an excellent free kick taker which we've really missed since naka left and I really think we need more height and physical presence in the team, at 6 foot 3, Mulgrew certainly fits the bill
Also..he's a free transfer! we can't go wrong, even if he's just back up cos we will need 2 left backs most probably

cant say im excited either but if its on a free I cant see the harm in it. Its not always about the first 11, we need squad players who know what the SPL is about and he does. cant see the harm in adding him to the squad.
