One reason I loved Neil Lennon doing so well last season was because it made people shut up talking about Martin O'Neill. I loved him when he was here, but he was in the past, and we need to all get over it (I know most have, but some still haven't). So IF Lennon was to go, apart from the whole financial status of the club compared to in 2000, I don't think O'Neill would take over. It would seem like a slap in the face for him to step in and take Lennon's job when the 2 obviously have such a fantastic relationship.

    Spot on.

Our vastly inexperienced manager has won more trophies in one season than Levein has his full management career!

I think Celtic have a philosophical problem with appointing boring organised tactical coach-managers who are only interested in winning. That is what Wim Jansen was and what Wattie was for them. We need to be more practical and stop worrying about style and Celtic's football philosophy/personalities.

Whats happened to all you so called great fans, remember the rafters lifting at Parkhead at the end of last season, when Neil Lennon said " this is not the end, it's only the begining" where have you all gone ? I wonder how a lot of you, would have reacted during our barren years under other managers, would you still be supporting our team ? I have supported Celtic, and I mean supported them, by going to home and away matches nearly 48 years ago. I am proud to be a Celtic supporter, proud to follow my team, and I will remain that way, till the day I die. Stop all this knee-* *, and support your team, not only in victory, but in defeat also. I know we were crap today, you know we were crap today, Neil Lennon knows we were crap today, but he is our manager, the manager we all applauded last season, for bringing back the thunder, the manager who gave us back an exciting style of football, played in the Glasgow Celtic way. All I have to say is, if you can't support your team, and your Manager during hard times, then you don't deserve the right to call yourself a Celtic fan. Neil Lennon, will know within himself, if he'* the buffer with Celtic, he won't need to be told to walk by some half baked Celtic fans. Do us all a favour eh, get behind the man, get behind the team, and start becoming a real Celtic supporter, not just a trophy hunter. :ynwacelti

Away, its almost impossible not to win the odd cup at Celtic. It means nothing.

If anything, it would destroy the confidence in this team even more if Lennon walked, or the board thought * it and sacked him.

We're in early OCTOBER FFS and the league is apparently over. We're in four competitions with all to play for and I believe Neil Lennon and this team are capable of turning a bad start into a good finish.

    Ok then.

Even Peter Houston managed to do what Craig Levein could not in his spell at Dundee Utd.

Neil Lennon will be judged on his results his job as manager is to put a team together to win the league first and foremost,he failed last season as his team lacked the bottle and conviction and that has carried into this season. He failed in the transfer window to bring in quality players to enhance the team.He had a chance to bury fat sally the rookie and its backfired miserably as he has screwed up his team selections consistently..I have no sympathy for him or his players but i do for the Celtic supporters looking at an abysmal 4Th year without a league title and then that goes into another season with us playing to stop 5. That's a disgrace and a worry for me i don't think Neil Lennon will survive falling further behind the league and the rookie fat scum sally, its a critical stage for him now but its not the end yet..but only just! If his team continues to easily roll over and gift the title to the manks..its over for Lennon.

We should never be taking chances on rookie managers at Celtic no matter who they are or how much they love the club.
I think he should be given until December to turn things around, if not bring in an experienced manager so he can construct his own team beginning with the January window.
We should know if we still have a chance of winning the league by then

Problem is, even if we change it now, whoever comes in will have the same group of players, so we might as well give him until January to turn it around.

I think we have to start giving it consideration now though, if it was a Johnny Foreigner manager we would be calling for his head, Lenny can't be given any more leeway because of what goes before him and because he is 'inexperienced'.

Experienced or not, if you are not cutting it, you have to go.

While the Levein bashing is fairly popular, I think there's little doubt he's a more capable manager than Lennon. At least going by the evidence (essentially his experience and what's he's taken from what he's been given) so far.

I hope Lennon can prove me wrong this year.

But Lennon can't compete with his experience because he's only been a manager for a little over a year! Jimmy Calderwood's vastly more experienced than Pep Guardiola, means nothing. I think Lennon is a much better manager then Craig Levein and will prove that over the next few years.

But that's the thing - Lennon's done little to prove it (recent results nothing but damning) so the only conclusion is in Levein's favour. I can't believe there's an argument there.

By the way the Pep example is terrible considering he won every competition going in his first season.

Sally is a rookie too, how the * is he doing so well in the league? Ignore other failures, getting the SPL 1. place and a possible CL place is the most important. And Sally seems to be doing far better than Lennon.
