Its good that we have the Shaktar away game when the weather is still good and Milan when they will probably already have qualified.

I think Celtic can get to the last 16 but even if you don't there's no way your going to finish bottom of the group so you will still be in Europe.

I think we are better placed in terms of our starting lineup then last year mainly due to how well Donati and Brown look in central midfield and how well McDonald has started up front. I think we have every chance of finishing ahead of Benfica and Shaktar Donetsk and are capable of making it tough for Milan.
Obviously our home form has been excellent and if we can go unbeaten at home and pick up 4 points on the road then I think that will be enough to see us through to the last 16. Certainly our away form has been as bad as our home form has been excellent but when you think about it our last 2 away games in the Champions league are now a very good 1-1 draw away to Spartak Moscow and last seasons 0-0 draw away to Milan before losing in extra time. So good signs there and I think it is realistic to feel we can pick up 4 points on the road.

I don't know why people are saying we played well against Spartak. They are a very average team. If we played that well and missed those chances against better opposition (i..e all 3 teams in our CL group) we will be * ourselves.

We are not a great team in comparison to the other big teams in the CL. I still think we are better than last year as a team but I was dissapointed by the lack of signings as the transfer window close and the average performance against Spartak.

But the key for us is the away form in Europe. It's unbelievable that we manage to lose 3 goals to Copenhagen last year. I think thats avoidable and if we can pick up 2 points away from home, i think we will qualify from the group. I think this year we have a tougher group than last year. Man U and Milan are not different in class, both are hard teams to beat but because we know more about Man U and English football and their players we are usually better prepared. But! I still think we can beat Milan.
Shaktar is a team I worry about. Possibly one of the toguhest teams we could've have picked out of Pot 4...luckily Sven did us a favour and bought their best player Elano for around 10 mil...but still we will find it difficult in Ukraine.

My prediction is Quater Finals. We need to pick up a few points away from home and get a more favourable draw in the last 16.

Brown may be inexpeirnced but if anything that will help us, he wil be fearless in every match and strive to win wetehr its against Adu or Kaka. If you remeber the last Scotland Italy games he was very good in midfield and that was away to the world championship so i think he could handle it.

As for McGeasy yes he has been poor of late especially in the CL but that was not always the case, the 0-0 draw against Milan when Shakatar were in our group before was one of his best performances and that was a big game

I think 3rd place (hope for 2nd) because I still think away form will be suspect and AC Millan at home will be tough. My prediction is Benfica Home win away loss, Donetsk Home win away win, AC Milan home draw away loss - points total 10

I think we have a great chance to qualify for the last 16. We finnished above Benfica last season and have strengthened so we can do so again. Milan should run out group winners so second spot is where i think we will end up.

last 16 i'd think. With Brown and Donati in our team i'd hope the last 16 anyway.

I think the last 16 is well within our capabilities. Our midfield is as strong as it has ever been. Brown and Donati will have learnt a lot from that Spartak game and both will be better prepared for what lays in store in the group stage. How far we go in the knock-out stages will depend on who we get. We all know we can beat anyone at Celtic park on our game, we need some self-belief and more luck in the away games and maybe an away game will go our way for a change.

I think it will all depend on how may consecutive games the back 4 play together and how long they go wihtout conceding a goal, if we go into the CL games wiht a defence that knows each other and are playing well i think we have a great chance

I dont no why people dont think last 16 is in are cabailitys, we showed last year we can beat benfica and with a decent away result there i think we would be sorted as i also think we are beter then shaktar even with their spending

If our away form was better then last 16 should be achievable, picking up points away is the key to getting in the last 16, maybe Scot Brown and Donati will be the difference this time, lets hope so.
