Yipp, that's where I sit with this! Something we are going to have to get used to, positive change though.

    * if it's against you though and your off down the tunnel having won by 1 goal, aha! Swings and roundabouts but.

The only issue is fans leaving at the final whistle and then rushing back in once a VAR check has been called.

I get where you’re coming from but then how long after the final whistle can we award penalties and goals etc? If there’s a dodgy award of a goal and people are still talking about it the next day will uefa just say “oh we’ll disallow it” so it ends up being a 2-1 win?

I realise I’m taking an extreme example but it doesn’t seem to be too far fetched if the referee can change his mind after the final whistle is blown

Wasn’t sure where to put this but looking at the coefficient and as much as Scotland has done poorly this season we are only really at a high risk of dropping one further place. Belgium have overtaken us on the back of Club Brugge and USG having strong performances in CL and EL so we are now 9th in the standings.

Austria are currently 10th they have 3 teams left in tournaments. One is going out after the groups but Salzburg will have at least EL knockouts. Strum Graz (Ajeti loan club) are the other who are in a tight group where they could actually come top or drop out all together and even miss the conference place.

We do have a bit of a cushion though Austria remain 2.8 points behind Scotland which is like 7 wins required to make up that gap as you get 2 points for a win but it gets divided but he 5 teams they initially had in the competition. One caveat I am not sure on bonus points for later stage qualification.

Essentially as long as Salzburg or Strum Graz don’t go far in a knockout stage of any of the competitions. We should be able to hold on to 9th which is where we were this year for teams qualifying for Europe for season 24/25. We are always fine for next year.

It will be like any other VAR check. Once it has been completed that's it. They aren't going to change results after that.

Rangers at risk of been the worst ever Champions League team.

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/rangers-face-victoria-plzen-worst-28339385.amp

As things stand, Dinamo Zagreb's dreadful 2011/12 campaign remains the worst the competition has ever seen. They finished with no points, three goals scored and 22 conceded for a goal difference of -19. But Gio van Bronckhorst 's team landed a nightmare group and five defeats on the spin - including Wednesday night's thumping against Napoli - leaves them within touching distance.

They've scored one, and conceded 19, leaving them on a goal difference of -18 - perilously close to joining or surpassing that infamous Zagreb side. A point against Ajax will of course see them avoid that unwanted fate, while they can still theoretically overturn the Amsterdam giants who have just three points to their name - though would need a miraculous five-goal win to do that.

If Rangers do finish the Champions Leaguecampaign pointless, though, there remains a scenario where they could be spared their blushes by Czech side Viktoria. Landing in a group with Bayern Munich, Inter and Barcelona, they've had a similarly disastrous campaign to Gers and are yet to pick up a point.

They've scored three and conceded 20 ahead of their final day showdown with Barca - who have been eliminated on four dreary points and cannot move from third place. Should the Catalan side deliver a thumping, they could also threaten Zagreb's record.

If Sporting does not lose today, Portugal will have 3 teams in the last 16 of CL for the first time. Big if but they are favourites.

And this Benfica team is up there with the best Benfica teams I seen. Unbelievable season for us so far.

I hate Porto more. No bitter or anything:fear:

Stood soaked when we got done 3 nil out there and shipped straight back out on coaches and Seville for obvious reasons..

Can't stand Simeone and Atletico's style of football either to be fair. Eye bleeding, cheating *'s.....but before my time..

Honestly don't think I've heard the Liverpool fans once in this game. Been pathetic.

I love watching Messi. Conserves his energy by walking about the pitch, simply moving the ball on, then bursts into life and looks every bit the goat.
