Remeber we got invited to join the G14 as full members while the huns were only offered associate membership? Fair doos it was all just political wrangling to scare Uefa but still to be seen as a separate element rather than just getting lumped in as the Old Firm is nice.

Correct me if I am wrong but there was a thread on here which was directly related to this subject (Winning football or Entertaining football)was the question or something like that. It was expressed on that thread by alot of people that winning football was the bottom line. None who where more vocal in suport of winning football than Hammer if I remember it correctly. However you now seem to be saying because the Huns play anti football which has brought them success you would not cheer it at parkhead if we adopted a similar style. That sounds a tad hypocritical to me.

I am not advocating the way the Huns played last night and for the majority of this season. However you cant argue with there success although for me I would not like to see Celtic playing that way. The very point that was so roundly dis agreed with on a previous thread.

BTW IMO Rangers invented a new game last night because what the played was not football. I have never witnesed a side ever who had as little intrest in the ball as the Huns had last night. I supose though for all you bottom linerers, that if that was Celtic last night then ultimately the result is all that would have mattered.

As with life in general there is a balance to be struck. We can't play gun ho football and expect to win everything just as much as we can't play completely negatively and appease the fans. So what we all want is to be entertained at times and to marry that with the ability to grind out results. I've been entertained this season by Celtic have you not? I've yet to meet a Rangers fan that has actually witnessed an enjoyable performance they have no genuine entertainers in their squad.

We've had very little entertainment this year hammer, and until now no success (stick the last 16 up your *, i said when the huns did it that it means hee-haw, and i stand by that).
On the other hand the huns have had little in football entertainment, but up till now good success, and could get a lot better.

On the entertainment thread , the choice was entertaining football with varied success, or non-entertaining football with consistant success.
I choose the former, , but was severly outvoted. Most said it doesn't matter as long as you win.

This year, unless we pull the league out of the hat (fingers crossed), has been a disaster, scarcely entertaining and possibly zero success. But, who do we blame? the fans for being fickle.

In the cold light of day, i'm still gutted. It shouldn't matter what they do, but i now know it does.

i've been happy with the teams entertainment levels this season, we hit a low. and extended low but before and after that low we've been exelent.
about 5 times this season we've finished with a high scoring game. hearts, aberdeen, motherwell, sucess in europe dispite how small it seem's now that they are in the final we can't be compairing everyone of our achivements to theres and if they done better think we're *.

was there a thread and poll on the entertainment this year thing?

I think it does have a bearing how they do *, it doesn't mean we're *, it just means they have legitimately reached the seville benchmark we set for recent decades, and can now surpass it.

The fact that they have an inferior bunch of players, and therefor must resort to dull tactics, and still reach that level sickens me more, it doesn't make it easier to swallow.

yes there was a poll.
Finished 40 for no they havn't
23 for yes they have.
i was one of those 23.
not sure of your point though as my post speaks for me and me only.
I have enjoyed the season. like i said we had an extended rough patch which was bad but at times we played great.
if it has a bearing on how they do does that mean if we were sitting top of the league the poll would have swung in the YES favour?

Sure we all want entertaining football. It is just a matter if you would prefer dull boring football that is very successful or entertaining football with limited success.

However we have so far seen neither of the above from Celtic this season. What we have seen is dull uninspiring football with no success.(Hopefully the success will come)

Don’t get me wrong the brand of football that we have been playing under WGS is nowhere near as negative or uninspiring as the way the Huns play. However as has been obvious from many of my posts I have been frustrated, angry and bewildered at times with our performances which have led me to being very critical of the team this season. I would shudder to think what kind of mood I would have been in if we played the way the Huns do.

Regards to being entertained. Taking the overall picture the answer to your question would be no. This season has been forgettable at best, we have had some fantastic and entertaining games in the league recently and some great home nights in Europe. Although I would defy anyone hand on heart to say they have been entertained on more occasions this season than they have been frustrated by the lack of good football for the most part.

To say we played Dull and Negative football and still failed is miserable to the extreme and completely wrong in my eyes.

In Europe we had a swashbuckling attacking style and were prepared to throw men forward not least at home. Even Messi came out and said Celtic are a team that unlike Rangers can play football and commit players.

I dont care what anyone says but I'd rather play attacking football and lose than play dull dull dull and win. Thats why everyone hates Chelsea and why even Jose Mourinho got the heave ho.

Of course the exception is if we went numerous seasons without winning - then I would want to win SOMETHING at all costs. But we are in a position to mould an attacking team from the base of 2 title wins - we tried and gambled on expensive midfielders and failed. Still thank * we're not the laughing stock of Europe. EVERY team has criticised Rangers so * them.

I rather be competing in the UCL with Europe's best. The Euro today is a much weaker competition that the one we competed for in our Seville run. To me its just a weak competition with a 'final' at the end.

Its going like the cup winners cup, it wont be long before it will be re-branded once UEFA gets their balls and disbands G14
