Clubs who like us that I can think of: Bilbao, Barca, Celta Vigo, Liverpool, Dortmund, St Pauli, Livorno, Toulon, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Sevilla just because of 03, Villareal were so amazed by our fans after we played them they set up a CSC - I was there :celt_2: great place and great little club they've loved us ever since, Rennes and I'd presume other Celtic clubs as well, Spartak fans seemed to love us in midweek there not sure if it's just cos of McGeady but they were all very friendly and respectful, Norwich now really like us after the 2 friendlies. * loads of clubs and loads of other ones you wouldn't even think of. Go ANYWHERE around the world and especially in continental Europe and tell folk you support Celtic and they will tell you stories about them, honestly everywhere i've ever been they love the Hoops.

Loads of older people in Europe love us just because of 67, we were like the Barca of that era because of our success and our style, loads of other people in Europe like us because of our strong political and religious background.
Like it or not a lot of people abroad call Celtic "The Catholics" like i've seen in Spanish and French papers "El Catalicos" and that because obviously of how we were formed and people love that in the Catholic places like Spain, France, Italy ect.

Then in North America and Australia you have tonnes of tims who are either expats or descended from Scots and Irish who supported us, in Britain there a few people who hate us because they get fed media bullshit but most English people love us when we actually go to their cities. Look at Norwich last summer, never really knew anything about them and I'm guessing they never cared about us but now they all love Celtic and loads of them have come up to games and stuff.

I've been to away games vs Leceister and Arsenal (probably more as well but can't think just now) as well and both time their fans were amazed by Celtic fans. Most Liverpool fans love Celtic, a lot of Man U and City fans like Celtic, I don't know about any other club but can't think of anyone who hates us except Chelsea and Birmingham because of their links to the deadhuns, but even then that's only the hardcore guys, most normal folk don't have an opinion either way and like to see Celtic do well in Europe (just look at the good reaction we've got this season).

I wouldn't have been saying that. It's always been Barca's policy to field a very young team when they are guaranteed top spot.
Barcelona being in Catalunya and Celtic having very strong Irish links links the two clubs in a way. On top of the huge mutual respect we have for eachother. Go to Catalunya with a Celtic top on and you'll see Barca fans' eyes light up :50:

It's fairly simple really. Our supporters tend to favour teams whose general ideals are similar to ours. Despite the differences of opinion between Celtic supporters, the majority have a similar ethos, namely standing up for the little guy wherever he may be, and generally not being a bunch of hate-filled arrogant scumbags who think they are the master race wherever they go. Obviously this sort of attitude is most commonly identified within the ranks of the zombies, so anyone else doing it is viewed in a similar light. Any club who cheats us or is disrespectful towards us is also in the "bunch of *" bracket. Our supporters will always side with the oppressed over the oppressor, which is as it should be.

Also goes without saying that Chelsea are complete *. Whatever possessed us to agree to a 'friendly' down there is beyond me. It was very unpleasant.

Dunno if it had previously been mentioned - but Panathinaikos have decent ties with us - on a side note, Big Sammy's dad played for Panathinaikos, maybe one of the reasons he * loves it here?

Why would we be pals with Liverpool? Because we sing the song song? I hate them with a passion.

And why are Newcastle a thumbs down? They are neither or for us. I'm a Newcastle fan aswell and never heard a peep apart from my pals who are Rangers and Newcastle fans, but that had nothing to do with Newcastle.

Because most Newcastle fans are arrogant * and Pardew is a class A *.

Its more of a short term fad than and actual hatred though.

Celtic's support for the JFT96 campaign lead to a lot of warm feeling towards us from a fair amount of their fans

We have no connection whatsoever with any EPL club, no matter how many games of intra-EPL oneupmanship are played on here by people who feel that Celtic isn't enough for them.

    I'm not picky.
We may have done but I personally think that this may have just made a bit of a stronger "bond" so to speak.

My cousin's a huge Liverpool supporter and he has said that a lot of supporters he has spoken to over the years there's quite a few Liverpool fans that look out for us and kind of treat us as their second team.

I did meet one Liverpool fan a good few years through my work though and he actually followed the dead huns :37:

Sums it up for Newcastle for me :50: Was a day I enjoyed when they got relegated a few years back :icon_mrgreen:

    That and * Gazza.

The Livorno one seems a bit random.

Livorno supporters flew an anti-huns banner in a match against AEK Athens. It was posted on here - I'll try and find it.

    EDIT: Here:

And yes, Larsson93 is right, it's to do with their strong stance against all things fascist.

a remember a trend in the 80s of people wearing wooly hats with one team on either side-like celtic -everton/liverpool/west ham etc. probs due to demographics rather than any actual tie in
