Our reserves and a few triallists controlled the game against their first 11. It * me off a bit because people will see this without knowing the story.

so 60% aren't bothered about the score, i think you should be, we are paying out wages here, for supposedly Celtic future team players, and we have a few that should be up for sale pronto like. stop kidding your selfs on here lads we where at home.
and there where no signs of any thing great, played tonight up front. maloney is a dogs *, Murphy would be better suited to playing Gaelic football, Brown doing his chicken imper sating again "HEADLESS" BIG DAN, DESPERATE. KEEPER, we would be as well having one from calderpark "zoo" overall embarrassing.

Standouts tonight, Charlie Mulgrew, James Forrest & Adam Matthews. Wanyama had a dodgy start, settled as the game went on though. Pletikosa at fault for the first goal, unfair to judge him and pass on him based on that though, still think he's capable of doing a good job for us. Twardzik was unlucky, really rate him and his Brother highly and hope to see more of them throughout the season.

Mphela & Lacny, i'm still unsure about. Would like to see them both in Dublin so we can see a bit more of both.

He is different than Stokes but he is not in the Sammy or Murphy mould. He sint strong enought to hold the ball up like the (should) do. I dont want us to pay 2mil for a guy that is at the most very little improvement. Id like to see him get more of a chance in Dublin as I was really looking forward to him before tonight but he hasnt convinced me.

Fringe players had a chance to prove themselves, largely failed (notable exceptions such as Mathews) so business as usual from now on

Just in from a pleasant wee evening in Paradise:celt_2:

The bad news though is the goalkeeper. I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself but he's got it all to do. He made one good save in the 2nd half but it's clear he needs games and to get them he need to take his chance in games like these. Maybe in Dublin?

Apart from that I didn't really learn anything. The other new boys don't look like superstars either and Commons showed in 20 mins that he could possibly win us the league on his own!:50:

Best part about tonight was being serenaded by the GB and the interview with Evan Williams in the programme.

    MOTM

    Forrest
    Mulgrew
    Matthews
    (IMO..)

Mphela - didn't get too many chances and looked too eager to impress
Pletikosa - Poor for the goal but Decent all round
Lacny - surprised he is even here TBH, Didn't look any better than Mphela or Murphy

Wanyama had a poor start but did get better,

if you are talking about the first goal that was the wall if they jumoed it would not of gone in.

never a 2-0 game for me 2 soft goals and if we had hooper or stokes on the park i reckon we would have scored.

forrest, chaz and matthews all played well

    maj and broony were shockin

    murphy........you know the rest.

the game against inter will be a far better yardstick to gage where the team is.

Haven't been in long, just been reading some of the posts from during the game.
    So we can establish:
    Matthews, Forrest & Mulgrew- superb.
Murphy, Samaras, Pletikosa & L...whateverthatothertrialistsnameit- pish
    Maj- very dodgy
Wanyama- great in the tackle, lacks composure in posession
    Cha- basically Usaine Bolt.
Seems to me that we managed to gain a lot of positives from that- this is what preseason friendlies should be for. Seeing what players can play where, who should be in the team who should be as far from the team as possible (Murphy). From what people are saying it looked like we were by far the better team, just lacked cutting edge from the strikers (hardly surprising when you've got a trialist each half playing alongside Murphy and Samaras).
I'm not worried, some players got match sharpness and all got the chance to show what they can do. Feeling a lot better than most huns are at the moment!

It was our second team today against Wolves main team. No big surprise about the result.

    Just cant get enough
The whole trialist thing is a bit amateurish for a club of our size imo.
Whatever happened to identifying good players and just * signing them.
Seems to work for most big clubs.
