Last 16 in Europe is never a dead rubber tie. He done an excellent job on Pirlo.

And it wasn't just an excellent first season, he was brilliant his 2nd as well up until McCulloch done him. He wouldn't have been sold, he's a player we know can be excellent and he can still do anhob even when off form and he's on about £9k a week.

Don't see the problem. Again, wouldn't start him tonight but.

Was considering putting that on myself. Although Commons anytime and celtic win is 25/1.

Sometimes it takes a game like this for a player to step up and turn around their form.

Would like nothing more than for Izzy and Kayal to start tonight and have the game of their lives but they have both been utterly * for basically 2 years now and it saddens and frustrates me, considering just how brilliant they were in 2010/2011.

Whoever plays though needs to put in 100% and even then we still may well lose. We're not 8/1 at the bookies for nothing.

Could he not just try and man mark Neymar?

If Forrest is fit he might go Matthews at LB and Jimmy at RM.

So many decisions for Lenny tonight, I don't envy him.

Assuming Neymar is left prong and Sanchez is right, Lustig will probably be tasked with that. I'd have no problems with that whatsoever is he is streetwise enough to rattle his cage early.

Who do you think is nailed down for tonight?

    Forster
    Lustig (will play at RB)
    Ambrose
    Van Dijk
Mulgrew (LB or more likely DM)
    Matthews (RM or LB)
    Brown
    Sammy (left or up top)
    Commons

Is this a match for my lucky scarf tonight?

I bought it at the Shakthar Match in 2007 - a game we won 2-1 with a last minute equalizer.

I brought it to the Helsinki match - which we won 2-1.

I brought it to the Elfsborg game - which we won 1-0, and I also brought it to the Shakthar game which we won 3-0 (but by one goal in aggregate)

Unbeaten with this scarf and one goal wins everytime!

Stick with it, or find a new scarf?

Didnt Neymar have a bit of a free role with Santos, and is only left wing with Barca to fit in with Messi roaming?
I wonder if he will be moved now that Messi is out?

PS.i dont like cynical football like most fans, but with your mention of streetwise, it does make me think. With Messi being so universally popular, i do think that defenders are sometimes frightened to boot him, as they would have the ill will of the worlds football fans to deal with.......but Neymar doesnt have that with all his diving etc, so as you say, a wee rattle of his cage early on wouldnt go amiss!

He was in the left primarily at Santos and was a llowed to roam, same as he is at Barca.

Probably not, Fabregas takes over Messi's role pretty seamlessly. He will come narrow a lot and stay wide a lot as well, stretches the defence. Under Martino the full backs have been going right into the box a lot though. Something our midfielders need to be very aware of.
