nah i heard it was Chelsea fans again:50:. The Utrecht fans caused no harm in the ground, whatever they did outside it is of no concern to me.

    Zaluska-shaky at times-5

Cha-impressive going forward and solid at back-7

Ledley-some lack of experience showed but not bad-6.5

Swedish monster-did Ok, slightly overhyped by fans IMO, looks a bit slow-6.5

Loovens-Did fine but never inspires confidence-6

Kayal-brilliant rare mixture of a DM and playmaker-10 (he will be worth a

fortune in a season or so if he avoids injury)

    Brown-dynamic and driving-7.5

Juarez-very good attacking, need to watch him on the defensive side of things a bit closer before really making a judgement-7

Maloney-good team player with a lot of talent. Not amazing last night but very important to how our game flows-7

Fortune-holds it up well but just looks like ann honest tryer out of position. Huffed and puffed a bit-5.5

Sammy-Usual mix of excellent play and patches where the ball wouldnt stick to him but overall was one of our main men last night - 7.5

Overall, looking good. However, if we want to be sure of things we must remember we are only as strong as our weakest links and we still have weak links at goalie, CB and poacher striker.

Zaluska- (7) made good saves but ran out the box & did mad things haha
Cha- (7) lost the ball 2/3 times but was good going forward
Loovens- (7) was better next to BBM but a bit hesitant at times
Majstorovic- (8.5) great debut, went through everything, dominant!
Ledley- (6.5) was ok but its not his position
Fortune- (6.5) tried too hard but he was good & strong agin
Brown- (7.5) he was good for a change , made good runs etc
Kayal (Forrest 69)- (10)/(7.5) kayal was immense/ forrest was his usuall but not on long enough
Juarez- (9.5) amazing, he will be a good player this year! he loves it here
Maloney- (8) thought he played quite good but could have done a bit better
Samaras- (8) tried hard but his 2nd half let him down immensly

    Just Can't Get Enough.
Was at the game the other night, I thought we played really well generally, especially in the first half. The only thing was maybe the second half, I thought we looked a bit static and didnt really take the game to them. However I guess not scoring a third is fucksight better than them getting an away goal.

Zaluska (6) Didn't really have much to deal with, however he looked shakey when he was forced to tip a poor effort over the bar. His distrobution isn't great and he fills no one with confidence. Celtic really need to get themselves an established number 1.

Cha (7) Got forward whenever he could and linked well with Fortune. Did well to set up the goal and generally kept Mertens quiet.

Loovens (7) Looked better than usual and did what he had to do. At the end of the day he should be used as nothing more than a back up, IMO he should be our 5th choice CB.

Majstorovic (8) Played really well on his debut and would have been MOTM had it not been for Kayal. Showd great composure and his experience could be the diference this season. Overall very solid at the back when he was needed to be and was dominant in the air, a potential rock at the back...something which we have been missing for far too long!

Ledley (7) Played really well for someone who isn't a left back. Really solid on the ball and looks very composed, looking forward to seeing more of him in the centre of the park.

Brown (7) A lot better than he has been recently. He was at his best in the second half when he was breaking up attacks and starting new ones, just like he did against ICT. Will need to continue to perform like this if he is to keep his place in the team.

Kayal (9) Great debut in the heart of our midfield, performed like he had been with us for multiple seasons. Set up the opener with a clinical pass which split the Dutch defense and was always there to break up attacks whenever Utrecht threatened. Overall he bossed the game from the kick off untill he was subbed. Can't wait to see more performances like this from him.

Juarez (8) Yet again another great performance from the Mexican. He took his goal well and continues to link up play with all areas of the team. Consistant as always, looks to be our best signing.

Fortune (6) Not his best performance by any means, however he linked up well with Cha and almost scored the teams third right at the end.

Maloney (6) Same as Fortune really, not his best. Would have had the opener had it not been for a great save by the Utrecht goalie.

Samaras (7) The biggest enigma in world football was at it again. Some great touches here and there along with taking his goal very well, was only to be matched by some stupid unnecessary flick-ons and extra touches. Shouldn't be upfront on his own, should be used in the same role as Fortune.

Forrest (6) An undoubted tallent and bright prospect for the future, showed glimpses of why everyone is so excited about him, should maybe have scored the header just after he came on.

Overall a great performance against a potentially difficult side. Looking good for a side that has been thrown together over a few weeks with a new Manager in control.

A little late, but congratulations. I give Celtic a 75% chance to qualify for group stage. But it itsn't over yet... we can accelerate against big clubs in home matches... last year we beat ajax at home with 2-0 and played very good matches against PSV en Twente (unfortunatly both 0-0)

So a still have a little hope ;):icon_mrgreen:

really dissapointed that we didn't score

Today we sold our best payed but almost never played striker Vandenbergh. He made 650.000 euro a year. So maybe before next match we will have a goalgetter.
Tomorrow we play Willem 2, that must give us confidence. They are most likely to relegate

May the force be with you.

To all Celtic supporters, thanks for your welcome! Had a great experience in Glasgow, and I hope you will in Utrecht.

I just missed "The fields..." out of the 35,000, that's a great song.:50:

he never played, but he was the best played fc utrecht player. Now we can look for another attacker. Unfortunatly Jacob Mulenga is still injured... We need his power and if Mertens will be sould before thursday i think we have no chance

Mulenga, will he play against us on Thursday ?

And you mean Vandenbergh, he as always on loan at other teams wasn't he ?

Is any teams wanting to buy Mertens ?

Mertens is hot. Everton, Ajax, Wolfsburg and Twente did a bit or showed there interest. Most likely he is going to advance his contract next monday. 200.000 euro extra this year and a fine contract to let him go away for big money next year.

great to hear you enjoyed the match and your visit to Glasgow. The Fields isn't sung as much as it used to be, i wish it was as it is a great song.
