(with a hi to a familiar, non-aggressive face, Keltoi, coming back for a while).
Hearts' disgruntled Korobochka trainer today pleaded Spartak to take a revenge on behalf of his club.
He was speaking in an interview with a Russian sports newspaper and described some weaknesses the visitors can exploit. Taking advice from a man originally from the arch-rivals, CSKA, and just humiliated by the Bhoys at its face value would be stupid, but one could still give him credit - he seems to have rightly pinpointed Naylor as a weak link.
We could indeed try and railroad our way into the penalty area to get a goal or two on that flank (which is also free, thankfully, of that much lauded midfielder who just mercilessly got a rival's leg broken - a double fracture, they say).
Alas, we have a problem (one of many).
And it is not that we lost 1-3 over the weekend. And looked even worse than Hearts.
That must have been because there was a massive food poisoning in the team the night before (even though they were staying in a five-star hotel), with recurrent votiming and all. No wonder the guys were pale shadows of themselves on the pitch. Am only hoping they will be able to recover in time for the big game.

Some of our supporters, btw, are right now flying into Edinburgh - and bent as * to paint the town red-white.
If their horsing around gets any local media play, would really appreciate a link to the funny story (to poke them in the ribs when are back).

Naka and Hartley will most likely start on the wings, Caldwell will partner Mick at the back and he'll keep with skippy and big Jan up front.

All the positions are pretty much set in stone bar McGeady.

I think Hartley might well come in to strengthen us defensively and see if we can break down Spartak without taking too many risks, and if that doesn't work then bring on Mcgeady.

It's worrying if they are now identifying Naylor as our weak spot.

Hi lads. Greetings from a spartak fan. wish u all a good and a fair game on wed. i ve got a couple of questions for u tho.
i arrive at prestwick airport at 17:00 from bournemouth on a match day. how long does it normally take to pass the border control (if there is such) and get out of the airport? then whats the quickest way to get to celtic park from prestwick? train to central station and a taxi then? and the main question is am i gonna make it on time for the game, considering i also need to buy the away ticket at the ground first.
and if you could also advice me on taxi prices... im staying at euro hostel.
    thanks in advance.

McManus has given it away (in interviews posted all over the place today) - the plan is for Celtic to put all the stops out from the word go and surge forward en force to subdue Spartak and get a goal right away. Which means McGeady in the starting lineup, not Hartley.
A lightning counterattack might then be very sobering.

This time 6 months ago if we heard a team were going to be pressurising Naylor we'd be more than comfortable with him, but after his recent form it's worrying.

The two former-wolves men have swapped form this season.

Maybe if Naylor hears he's been identified as a weak link he'll step up his form... it's ridiculous how he's gone from a star player bordering on an England call-up, to a player identified as the weak link by opponenets.

Hartley might be placed infront of him for more protection on the left.

Had a very disappointing Scottish presence in Luzhniki (despite the promise of thousands upon thousands; just hoping the vows of an atmosphere at Paradise will not turn out a similar let-down). Perhaps because of being just a handful, the visitors' support in their striped garb somehow looked pitifully like a humble detention-center lot suddenly taken for an outing to the city.
It looks like Spartak will have more fans at Celtic Park. The first party of around 30 is already in. More groups are en route. Hope they will give a more creditable performance on the stands than their opposite numbers from the Hoops in Moscow.
Some has to get the atmosphere right after all! lol

The reason there were less fans than usual is the fact that major tour operators didn't provide sufficient transport for the fans.

And dont you worry about the atmosphere at Celtic Park, that takes care of its self:celt_2:

Naylor isn't as bad as being made out, in fact he's still one of our best footballers. 3 or 4 games were he has not being his marauding self does not constitute a weak link.

Strachan had told both him and Wilson to sit deep and not go too far forward against Hearts and it worked.

Although naylor has clearly been off form (especially hsi distribution) i also think that McGeady has also been poor and the two combined on the left flank is undermining us. I would prefer to see the more solid but unspectacular Hartley start as i fear the pace of their counter attack.

Gratified to here that. Looking (or is it listening?) forward to the signing... No, right - looking forward in fact (because I am also aware of the 10,000 polly flag show being prepared).
Hope it will indeed be an experience.
