Our team never really instills fear into opposition players, in recent memory only O'neils Celtic side had that aura in European games, thanks to having a couple of outstanding players.

But the name Celtic and its fans do instil fear, we need to take advantage of that.

Im still worried about us coming unstuck against quality sides like inter with this high pressing game were playing atm, we rarely get punished in the spl for losing the ball high up the pitch but this will be a different story so i hope we are as good in possession as we can be without, having said that were a completely different animal now compared to even a few months ago now that the players have finally adapted to ronnys philosophy.

I just pray we can give a good account of ourselves and not go over to Italy knowing the tie is all but finished...against us.

Its a good point that we could be playing into Inters hands with our high pressing approach. But if its done right, and recently we seem to be doing it extremely well then we will br putting extreme pressure on them from the word go. That added to our huge support amd noise we could really shake them up early doors.

I do feel if we fail to break them down in the first half it may get difficult for us as we slow down as the game goes on.

Play the way we did against Salzburg at the back and it'll be a similar scoreline if not more. I'm hoping we've got it together better now to put on a good performance, the team seems to have clicked more. Griffith's should start up front. I see its a sell out, could have been doing with some more fans in some of the groups games.

Its my birthday as well so heres hoping for a win (clean sheet preferably) :50::celt_2:

I find it a massive compliment that people believe we (the fans) can have a genuine impact on the result. Most of us would give anything to play for Celtic but that's a nice consolation.

I've got a good feeling about this one, different from that of when Salzburg was approaching. We've been playing good football recently and although we were slipping towards the end at St Johnstone I think that's more of a one off.. I think we should give Mackay Steven a shot on the starting line up, might not have the most experience against big teams but he's got some skills and can show some impressive play. I think our back 4 has come along way from the mess against Salzburg too.. the last 8 competitive games show 8 wins and 7 clean sheets, no matter what league you're playing in that's impressive. I'm also gonna go out on a limb here and say we should start with Guidetti, even if there is speculation around whether he wants to stay or go, lately he's seemed more committed to the club and even if he is looking for a move what better way to show it than to play good in European football and a win here would pay off dividends for the club. Ronny's starting to get his way, I've stuck with him from the start but have been extremely hesitant/annoyed at times but seems he's finally found his feet and he wants to make this work, he want's to earn our trust and he's done a pretty good job in 2015.. Let's hope he can top it on Thursday. HH

This is a bonus game for us.

    Would go with

Gordon; Matthews, Virgil, Denayer, Emilio; Brown, Bitton; Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Armstrong; Griffiths.

That's our best team available. Don't understand the calls to start Guidetti - he has hardly kicked a ball since November and Griffiths is a far superior striker.

When should we deploy the orchestrated sonic attacks for maximum impact?

Can't decide if it should be at the 5 minute mark, or lull them into a false sense of security in the first half and then -- WHAM :bash:-- 46th minute. Sonic boom.

I mentioned in the other thread that we should sing WHAM songs and their players will get hard ones by looking at our handsome players, which will make them unable to walk. So GMS and Armstrong need to start for this.

Medel, who once played for Cardiff is a good player and a bit of a hard player , maybe not a hard man tho. He seems to play in front of their back 4. He is a small enough player but does what he is there to do. I'm flying over from belfast on Thursday and would be delighted with a 1-0 win. A clean sheet is a must, and apart from that last ten mins on Saturday I think our defence has been excellent. We need to start fast and I think the fans blasting out the noise in first 5/10 mins could unsettle one or two of their players. Looking forward to full house , great day away and most importantly a great performance and result from celtic.

A 5 min video of the build up to inter game in 1967,

Icardi is the man too watch though, he's there biggest threat.

Palacio is a good player as well.

Inter have a team full of good players. They've just not really played as a team.

We need to close Guarin and Shaqiri down constantly and mark Icardi out. If we do that we should have a good chance. Guarin had a good game against Atalanta, but they gave him time and space, we can't afford to do that.

    Inter Starting 11

Was wondering everyone's opinions on what the starting line up for Thursday should be? I would pick.

    Gordon
    Matthews Denayer Van Dijk Izaguirre
    Brown Bitton
    Mackay Steven Johanson Armstrong
    Griffiths
However I worry Deila may play Stokes if he's fit enough. Would maybe like to see Forrest in the starting 11 if he is fit.
