Early kick off on a Sunday is no good for alot of folk unfortunately.

46,000 is still an amazing turn out. A lot of people expect too much from Celtic supporters. Maybe its the "best fans in the world" tag that we're so commonly associated with, I don't know.

Teams like Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea would never be able to attract 46k every second week against the likes of Inverness, Hearts, Aberdeen etc. There's also the small matter of the recession.

I see no reason why Sky or the SPL continue to stage live TV matches at lunchtime or even earlier on Sundays. They could broadcast Celtic matches live with a 2pm kick off on a Sunday or an evening kick off maybe even 7:45 on a Saturday. Saturday evening kick off could be good for generating a bit of atmosphere and get the crowds back.

45k was a good turnout considering it was early on a sunday and it was on t.v.

Yep. I thought 46,000 was a brilliant turn-out to be honest. It's 75 per cent capacity on an early Sunday kick-off during a recession. I don't see how anyone can claim that's particularly negative. Our average home attendance versus the diet filth last season was 54,000 but the first match we played against them had an attendance of 49,000 so pretty much the same.

    How many Jambos were there?

I don't usually disparage away attendees given the financial outlay, travel and general effort involved but that's some level of "support".

Happy with the 3 points and that we can now enjoy the look of the league table during the international break. I thought we played fairly well in the first half and were full value for the lead. The second half while we did lack a spark at times we still did enough to deserve the 3 points. An argument can certainly be made that we maybe should have started Ledley and Kayal but not much beyond that for me. I think we needed to go with a strong first choice type lineup as you knew the diet huns would raise their game and really make it difficult for us. Credit at the back to Michael Lustig who seems to be settling now and played well. Another strong outing for Wilson while Izzy looks to be getting back to his great first season form. Lets hope now our guys come back from their various internationals injury free.

Missed most of this game on Sunday so can't comment on performance. Happy with 3 points though. Onwards and upwards.

This post makes far to much practical sense to ever be implemented by Sky or the SPL mate, trully awesome idea though.

Really impressed by Ambrose on the pitch and his interviews so far. Great attitude in both cases.

Really good interview there, never talking about himself only about how the team is performing. He has a positive outlook on everything really and being fluent in English seems to have helped him settle into life in Scotland pretty quickly.

    [QUOTE

    What a guy:celt_2:[/QUOTE]

Very impressive interview on several fronts.:50:

Good team ethic, thoughful (and insightful) responses and a likeable guy to boot.

There is the makings of a serious Celtic player here I think.

Guy seems Genuinely happy and proud to be here. I love that, and I think its an invaluable trait.

Early days, but long term he has all the raw building blocks of a future Captain or at least big voice on the pitch here I feel (and he has the fluent English for it too, need to get him watching Burniston box set though for the accent).:ynwacelti

This game was * awesome for a Euro Hangover game; could have been about 6. We need to start being more clinical.

We're missing Anthony Stokes in that regard. Both for the quality of his final ball and the quality of his finishing.
